This is not the first time I’ve told you this; I have amazing and extremely talented friends. Between them, I’ve knocked out a huge portion of my holiday shopping list and I’m even am having my Thanksgiving turkey cooked for me. Beat that!

Now, this is not a review, nobody is giving me products for free (Hiya FTC) and I’m not receiving any money for writing about my awesome friends and their pretty products. I just thought it would be a cool way to collect and share some great gift ideas made by honest to goodness wonderful folks that I totally dig. Capishe?

Teddy Bears

The teddy bear is crocheted and is about 12″ tall standing with floppy arms and legs. She is wearing a hand knit dress trimmed in lace.

I have a boy teddy bear, he is not dressed but his body and half of his arms and legs are done in a color making it look like he is wearing jammies. The teddy bear with dress is $40 and the boy teddy is $25.

The Day Velcro-Crotched Leotards Got Me Something Good

Do you read the fitness blog That’s Fit? If you don’t, you really should. I subscribed to it months ago and I can’t tell you how many great tips they have given me – not to mention how many times reading something there has kept me on the wagon, so to speak.

Back in November, a post on That’s Fit asked for our “worst fitness wardrobe malfunction”. Of course, I had a story to tell…

When my sisters and I were little, we took a lot of dance classes. Nothing stinks more than having to take off your entire leotard and tights ensemble to use the bathroom – nothing except my mother’s solution.

My mother cut the leotards at the crotch area and fastened them back together with VELCRO. What do you think happened when we did a cartwheel or back walkover? Yep, you guessed it. Horror.

And what do you know? I won! (Thanks Mom!) My prize was this super cool hoodie and sports bra from Gracie’s Gear.

I have to tell you, I wore both to the gym today and loved them! The hoodie has the best compartment for your ipod that I’ve seen. For me, it could actually be called a “safety pocket” because slipping my ipod into the inner pouch meant I didn’t have to put my ipod on the treadmill shelf as I usually do. And usually, I end up accidentally tearing out my ear buds as I pump my arms while I run. Which usually leads to me having to try and pick them up while the treadmill is still in motion – and, you can see this coming, can’t you? – usually I end up making a complete fool of myself at the gym.

But not today, folks! Today, I was stylish AND coordinated on the treadmill. Who would have thought that 80’s velcro-crotched leotards would have ever led to something that cool? Not I. And certainly not my therapist…

Must Have EggNog in the Morning

One of my favorite treats of the season are eggnog lattes. Starbucks got me hooked on the yummy delights years ago but they don’t always offer a skinny option. In fact, more often than not, the barista looks at me like I’m nuts when I place my order.

I’d like a grande low fat eggnog latte, please.
Ma’am, we can make it with skim milk but the eggnog is full fat sooooo…

Translation: It’s the same thing as ordering a Diet Coke with your Big Mac Extra Value Meal, old lady.

Well, can’t you use reduced fat or fat free eggnog?
We only have full fat, ma’am.
But they sell it right here in this very store!
Sorry…

I’ve been tempted to bring my own fat free eggnog along in a flask or write to Starbucks and tell them how they are missing out on a great low fat idea – but then I found something better.

Spicy Eggnog Coffee from Green Mountain. No fat. No calories. Only divinity.

And yes, I buy it by the box load.
