I’m Not Making Resolutions But We Are

Actually, that’s not true. The only resolution I made this year was to keep on trying. It means something to me but doesn’t look extremely snazzy in print.

But at Joslyn Place, Meredith and I made a resolution to give more. You should check it out.

Advertising in a Recession

This morning, I walked well over 5 miles passing out flyers for our new photography business. Yes, my journey was also for exercise, but I have to admit that it was much easier to walk those hills while keeping the hopeful possibility of new clients in my mind. I got a workout, stamp-free advertising and some vitamin D all for the sweet price of nothing. Hey, in this economy, I’ll take it.

Yesterday, I saw a handwritten sign on the street corner that fits well with this post.

I know you can’t see the letters well so I’ll spell it out for you:

“Real Estate Millionaire Reveals Trade Secrets”

I’m totally thinking about calling the millionaire that writes out his signage by hand with a sharpie.
I’m guessing that’s probably secret #1…

Because, Really, I Need Another Addiction

I know I’ve been a slacker around these parts. I don’t write. I skim and barely comment. Hell, it’s a good day when I click the “Like” button on Facebook. I’m sorry…but I’m caught up in something new (to me) and I can’t stop. Nothing has had me wrapped this tight since I fell for twitter and before that, blogging. Yeah…like way back then.

My new addiction? All that is Photoshop. The Kicker? Free actions. Holy hell, I have become a free action whore. God help me…

And it’s not like I even know what I’m doing. In fact, I am overwhelmed by all that I do not know.

But, alas, the pull is too strong…

I just figured I’d come clean.

A Kissing Contest

Brought to you by my other blog, Joslyn Place Photography…and the numbers 2 and 7.

Joslyn Place is warming up for fall by throwing a little contest at you. It’s simple, really. To enter, all you have to do is send your friends our way to give us a kiss. Each time a pal of yours becomes a fan of ours on Facebook or follows us on Twitter, you get one chance to win. The more people you refer, the more chances you get. Easy peasy, right? You may be wondering how we will know whose friend is whose and that answer is a cinch, too.

They have to tell us.

Facebook example: Meredith Novario sent me to become a fan and give you a sloppy smooch.
Twitter example: @Mereditz sent me to give you a kiss. MWAH!

And so on and so forth.

Now, you’re dying to know: What will you win? The winner will receive a complimentary Joslyn Place Mini-shoot on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009. The winner must reside in either Prince William or Fauquier County, VA or be willing to travel to us on that day.
