The trip had been planned perfectly for weeks. All children, animals & activities were accounted for barring an emergency, which luckily didn’t arise. What did occur unexpectedly were two consecutive snow days that caused some added juggling in the babysitting and travel time departments but worked out it the end thanks to my wonderful Mom and children.
We arrived at the Inn late and were not dressed so a mad rush ensued to get to the dining room and look somewhat presentable. I think I pulled it off but my husband, who once we got to our room found out he packed the wrong suit, no belt and wrong color socks, didn’t fare as well but I thought he looked smashing anyway.
Dinner was as delicious as the view. Everything was exquisite except perhaps the guest list. One guest in particular made herself quite comfortable with her cocktail and then tried to do the same with my husband. Who are these women? It seems as though every party has its drama and after that one was squashed (or she was) the night was easy & enjoyable.
We retired to our room around midnight and awoke to a beautiful sunrise.
After a nice breakfast with friends, we headed home. It was a good time but I think I’m all done with parties until next year…
that dress looks beautiful, does it have some sparkling stuff on it, looks like it glitters.

Geez! I wore my (newest) jeans, fleece and Sorel snow boots to the Christmas party! Luckily only a handful of people dressed up.
