Our 100 Things Weekend

Saturday, October 8th 2005

I’ve been struggling with coming up with a 100 Things list. As of now, I only have a measly 15. So…I thought that we could turn this into a game.
(you know how much I love games…ooohhh, I have to put that on the list)

You tell me something clever and true about me to add to my list and if I choose to keep it, your name will be linked to it for eternity on my sidebar. Deal?

** As of Sunday morning, the list is up to 72!! We only need 28 more by sundown.
Can it be done??**

Here’s my 15:
1. I am the oldest of 3 sisters.

2. I studied Chekhov’s “Three Sisters” as well as his “Uncle Vayna” while in acting school in New York City.

3. I moved to the Big Apple when I was 18 years old.

4. I eloped in Las Vegas when I was 21.

5. I have lived in 10 different homes since then.

6. Some of my family thinks I am in the witness protection program. I’m not. I’m just running from my past.

7. I love red wine - cabs are my favorite.

8. I like wearing blue nail polish. I guess that’s the rebel in me.

9. I went to a Catholic all-girls high school with sexy blue plaid uniforms. Lots of lesbians. (just kidding… I thought that would spice it up a bit)

10. I am addicted to blogging and jazzercise.

11. I used to be hooked on bingo. I gave it up for lent.

12. I’m hooked on Survivor too. Love it.

13. Not many men survive in my family. We are quite the matriarchal bunch. I’m rooting for my husband though.

14. I’m also rooting for the Washington Redskins. They are the only team in any sport I care about.

15. I love the Redskins because I was brainwashed. In my green plaid K-8 days, we were rewarded with no homework when the Redskins won. They won the Superbowl (’83) when I was in the 4th or 5th grade and we didn’t have homework for a week and were excused from school to go to the parade. See? Brainwashed.

Now where’s yours?
This is our list, so make good.
Let’s make it to 100!

If you really love me, feed me in your reader!

You love me. You really love me. Dontchya?

  • You love California…am I right?

  • Man, no fair. I want to learn NEW things about you, not what you’ve already written here, because I’ve memorized it all.

And I liked these 15 very much.

But here’s one: You can sing very well and you and your great matriarchal family enjoy going to kareoke. And….you are working on that song post? No?

  • And were you reallly considering banishing me from your sidebar?

    sob.

  • You love fresh summer corn, tomatoes and crabs.

True, yes? I hope I win. LOL

Ohhh I just thought of something!! Next summer you can come to my house, laze by the pool and we can do a low country boil and have corn and tomatoes and crabs!! and beer and margaritas!! and red wine!! We’ll have to time that alcohol so it doesn’t collide and cause troubles. lol

  • I’m stuck on the fact that you were only in elementary school when they won the superbowl….

  • Ann Marie

This really isn’t fair for me to chime in seeing how I am your sister. I could come up with tons of new information about you. Let’s see…

    2. You were Maria in the “Sound of Music” and Dolly in “Hello Dolly”.
    3. Your first job was at an ice cream shop.
    4. You used to be able to play a mean game of softball and soccer.
    5. You are always ready to listen and give sound advice.
    6. You are terrified of bridges.
I could go on and on…

    Go Redskins!!!

    You are a fellow Virginian.

You are a very devoted wife and mother.

The Vegas wedding almost did not happen.

    You have curly hair.

You have a plasma, wall TV.

    You are very thoughtful.

You have a gorgeous Great Dane.

    Am I close with these???

  • Okay, soapbox.SUPERSTAR just stole half my list.

I’ve only managed to come up with about 12 things for my 100 things list…and I had to do them 6 at a time. LOL

Does “You want to come visit aka_monty” make the list?

  • From your House Favorites: Your husband has your name tattoo’d on his arm. Not many can say that!

  • you are currently trying to lose weight but are feeling a little less than motivated at the moment.

    you keep a to-do list

Princess Diana was married on your birthday and died on your wedding anniversary.

  • Sherry

    1) You are a LEO
    2) You LOVE to dance, sing and show off.
    3) Yes, you do love games….ALONG with people.
    4) You are kind, giving, & loving and a PEACEMAKER for the most part.
    5) You can be a Bitch if you don’t get your way. (But can’t we all)
    6) You never really had a father, yet you love men and grew up stable without him.
    7) You secretly want to be discovered and go to HOLLYWOOD someday.
    8) You quit smoking and still want a cigarette.
    9) You love cabbage….but secretly dislike cabbage soup as I write this.
10)More people love you then NOT.
How is that for starters xoxo

  • Man! People are taking more than one! It’s no fair!

You live in the ding-dang woods.

You are petro-fied (he he, pun) of all the bugs that live in your ding-dang woods.

    :P

  • You brush and floss your teeth at least once a day. (I’m right, please tell me I’m right, because if I’m not right, I don’t think I can be your friend.)

    ;P~

  • You wake up every morning…

  • When you make someone a friend, you work very hard to keep her.

  • Here comes some more from a ‘family source’
    1) You are in the grooming stage to be the next and greatest matriarch of our family.
    2) Even though you eloped to Las Vegas, you were married 8 times in Sound of Music with full wedding gear!
    3) You were so devoted to your grandfather that you wanted to sing at his military funeral but couldn’t get past saying his name.
    4) You LOVE family traditions and the Christmas holidays are your favorite time of the year.
    5) Seems there were other pre-teen crushes whose pictures were plastered all over your bedroom: Elvis; David Cassidy; Donnie Osmond.
    6) We rarely missed seeing these TV shows together: “Sha Na Na” , Donnie and Marie, and “Little House on the Prairee”.
    7) You have a photographic memory!
    8) You have had a best friend since second grade!
    9) You are a creative scrapbooker.
    10) You give 110% to every task you undertake, from painting the house to nuturing a family, to forming new friendships. (Ok that’s a mother talking)

  • Let’s see,

You were the Letter Turner gal on “Wheel Of Fortune” until you turned the wrong letters at the wrong time. Pat Sajak fired you.

In Jazzercise class, you like to wear green tights with pink polka dots on them.

    Want me to continue?

  • You are very loyal too and protective of your family.

  • You love spicy food (almost as spicy as mine).

Until Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys, I bled royal blue and silver. He ruined the team that Tom Landry built, so I root for anyone playing them (do you realize how hard it is to pull for the ‘Skins?) because it just deflates his ego.

Those battles between Landry and George Allen were classics. Some of the best football played.

  • bingo? Oh boy… I need to bring my digital camera to a bingo parking lot near here… there’s a great sign there.

    Oh, you loooooove Mexican food.

  • you don’t have anything about your kids on that list at all, you’re a mom, shouldn’t that be on the list?

  • Oh, fun, fun. If only I had a decent memory. The things that are coming to mind shouldn’t be published EVER. Dig deeper, Mere, dig deeper.

    1. When you visited me in middle school with your forever blond hair all the cool boys wanted to date you. I wanted to be you.

    2. And before that in elementary school you did your best to stomach a dinner that my mother made only to lose the peas and carrots in the laundry room.

    3. Speaking of vegetables, one of the most contented issues of our family is whether or not you are responsible for the green beans that got lodged in your little sister’s nostrils. I don’t believe you literally meant for her to stick them up her nose when she asked you what to do with them. That’s my take.

    4. You are the first person to be thoughtful in any situation. Always, always first on the scene with the kindest of gestures.

    Those are kosher, no?!

  • Ok, I don’t think I am qualified for this one but I had to comment because I am here in my (tiny bit of) spare time to catch up with you! I did notice my honorable mention down there, sorry I had to break the news about Vin but I got it from a good source so I had to share. In my eyes though, you are one of the sweetest and caring people I have never met….so I guess for one of your hundred things you could say something like…”I am one of the sweetest and caring people Kate has never met” AHAHAHAHAHA

  • Alright, I would like to become an honorary member of the UngaChunga matriarcy. What do I have to do to apply?

  • Uh…
    You are a sweetie-pie!

  • OK I’ll try to add more …

You have two beautiful little girls who live in Petroville and you have stepsons who live outside of Petroville.

Your husband is often away on business, even as far away as other countries.

It is he who credits you with building your family’s life while he is earning your family’s living.

The first hubby of Petroville is highly loved and respected above all others.

You see the wonderful blessing that your life is and you are very thankful for it. You do not take your marital/family happiness for granted.

  • Your driveway is a quarter-of-a-mile long, making it very inconvenient to get mail, haul out the trash cans and get the kids to the bus.

You like being the center of attention!

  • You share your leo birthday with another fellow blogger ;-) You are funny, sweet, caring, etc…which is obvious by how well these bloggers know you!!! • You hate subsitutes for your jazzersize class-hate them!

You love mexican food and go to the (I forgot the name) place at lest once a day.

you lived in Halfmoon Bay and loved it.

You had a dog named George(I think?) and you had to give him away(to a good home) because he was a big pain the ass.

    you love Mariah Cary

You and your husband have recently finash a beautiful landscape project around your home.

You have moved alot and have said you will not move again- your here to stay

You have met in person a few of your blog friends and are now friends outside of bloging

You once came to Cal-real close to the central coast and didn’t call your your blog friend Jak…..

  • I think you’re off to an excellent start. I wish I could help add some to your list, but I am a fairly new regular, and am still learning much about you. And I had no idea you lived in NYC. Do you ever miss it?

  • Hey MommaK, just thought I’d let you know that you and Meredith posted to my blog at the EXACT SAME TIME yesterday. Weird, huh?

  • You can crab as in fish. LOL!

I do know that you are very warm and welcoming to new friends.

  • no fair. i dont know you well enough to put anything down except you are a wizard with a great memory for SURVIVOR details….but you have already listed this in your list… boo hoo.

  • I’ll try to add a few more
1). You used to know every word from the script of “Top Gun”
2).The first car you had (or at least the first car I can remember) was a white Ford Tempo.
3). You saved your favorite Barbies so you could give them to your daughters. When we finally took them down from the attic, among the outfits that made it was a Elvis jump suit.
4). You lived in a one bedroom apartment with three other people in New York.

  • Natalie

Maybe you could do a 100 things to do over the weekend list - and do them all!
    With photos though

    Off you go

  • Speak Up. You Know You Wanna.
