Star Crossed in Laurel

Wednesday, February 2nd 2005

After moving back to MD from NYC, having absolutely no idea what to do with my 20 year old self, I started job hunting. One afternoon 11 Januarys ago, I headed to the main drag in Laurel, MD where I began popping into restaurants and filling out applications. I was hired on the spot at the third place I happened into. Nothing really noteworthy in my quest. I was not searching for anything more than a place to work where the tips were good. What I ended up finding in the middle of buffalo wings, Monte Cristos and 10 pieces of “flair” was the love of my life, my soul mate and now husband of over 10 years. Five months after taking that job, we were on a plane to Las Vegas where we eloped. How random is that? What if the Olive Garden would have hired me????
