This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Pop-Tarts.

But when I announced, “Hey, kids! I made homemade ice cream sandwiches out of Pop-Tarts®.
Would you like one?” They all came running.

And they did what is eve more rare in this house…they quietly got along and let me take their picture.

Brilliant!

I didn’t know you had kids in college!
My kids just love making popsicles. Their favorite is freezing orange juice.
Our little one just loves cut-up mixed fruit. Of course cake & ice cream is a favorite as well.
i love to make fruit salad.
They’re not homemade, but I used to love freezer pops. I still do!
As a kid, we used to help my mom chocolate-coat bananas and then freeze them. And in a couple hours, we’d come home from the pool for a banana pop. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
our family loves brownies and home made ice cream cake!
We love to make these:
Cake Balls
You can do any combination of cake-frosting mix that sounds good to you!
Make cake according to directions on box
Crumble cake and mix with tub of frosting/icing
Roll into balls (makes about 50)
Refrigerate to harden
Dip cooled balls into any type of melted chocolate.
Keep refrigerated or frozen.
Congo Bars ( a recent discovery of mine)
Here’s the link to the recipe, her site is amazing!

This was a childhood fav of mine – Puppy Chow (for humans)
6 cups Crispix cereal
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
12 ounce chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave or on the stove. Stir into cereal. Put powdered sugar in a paper sack. Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated
Our favorite “homemade” summer summer treat is brownies. I use a standard brownie mix, add an extra egg, then toss in about a half-cup of chocolate chips. Fantastic chocolate fix!
Thanks for a fun giveaway.
Strawberry puree added to ice cold lemon or limeade is good. S’mores are also fun around a campfire. (I love the s’mores flavored pop tarts too.)
Thanks for a chance at this awesome giveaway & happy blogging.
We put gummy bears in soft serve ice cream- delicious, no recipe needed!
my kids love frozen pretzels [the store bought hard ones] that have been dipped in melted vanilla bark
it’s easy too!

It’s sort of home-made: We love frozen grapes. I freeze them on a cookie sheet and then put them in a freezer bag. Cold, fun and actually good for you. Thanks for the contest.
we love microwave caramel corn. it goes together fast!
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 t salt.
Mix all and microwave for 3 mins. Stir, then 30 seconds more. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Place 3-5 qts popped corn in large paper grocery bag, pour caramel, shake. Microwave 90 seconds, shake. Poor on cookie sheet to cool.
We love to enjoy the fresh summer fruit so we simply wash it and make a fresh fruit platter to enjoy. sometimes we have a whipped topping from a can and some of my grandkids enjoy squirting the topping on strawberries or blueberries (I do, too)
My kids like smoothies, vanilla yogurt, 1/2 a banana and a handful of strawberries is their favorite.
We are a family of smoothies in the summer. I love to take a tray of ice, some organic pulp-free OJ (about 2 cups), and two good sized handfulls of fresh berries (strawberries and blueberries are great!). But it all in the blender and blend until nice and smooth. WONDERFULLY refreshing on a hot day!
I think I keep the local Dari Point restaurant in business in the summer! LOL We go at least once a week if not more for their wonderful soft serve ice cream. They have like 20+ flavors of it and its SOOOO good!
My son liked anything and everything. In the summer watermelon, strawberries or strawberry shortcake were always a hit.
I didn’t get this recipe for shortcake till a few years ago, but it’s easy and they are great!

frozen grapes!!
Their favorite summertime treat is home made ice cream sandwiches, just like you made. We also make popsicles out of fruit juice.
Our favorite summer treat has always been bugs on a log. We use celery and peanut butter but NOT raisins…gross…instead we use craisins! Yum!
