This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Tassimo.
In this house, the day does not and cannot begin without coffee. Our coffee system is my first stop each morning after hitting the alarm clock and becoming vertical. I have been a fan of the single-cup brewing systems for years now because on the scale of horrid severity, second only to no coffee is burned/old/bad coffee.
When asked to review the Tassimo brewer, I knew I could give it a good once over. Or twice. Okay…we fell in love. It was easy because I adore good coffee!
As I assembled the product, I was most impressed with the built in water filter. It’s like having a mini Brita filtration system on the back of your coffee maker. Very cool.
And then I made my very first cup of coffee…or cappuccino, rather. I felt like a barista as the machine steamed and my milk foamed. Mmmmm.

I soon found that the smell of fresh brewed cappuccino was like throwing popcorn to one seagull at the beach. Within minutes, everyone in my family descended on the machine and took turns making beverages of their choice.
Here are a few of the lessons I learned after having the Tassimo brewer open to all of my family and guests at Thanksgiving:
1. When the directions say to wait until the machine is finished brewing before you lift the lid, believe it. I’m still finding coffee grinds on my walls.
2. If you are sweet and make your teenage daughter a hot chai tea one morning before school, know that she will want it each and every morning. Soon (like now) she will request that you fill a thermos that she can take with her. Every day.
3. Nothing warms a 10 year old up after playing in the snow better than steamed, foamy, hot chocolate. Five times in one afternoon.
4. Cats like to lick coffee grinds out of kitchen corners and then magically become super-from-under-the-bed-pouncing-machines. It’s quite scary.
5. If you are a strong coffee fan, you have found your brewer. (Which is what my brother in law said when he asked if he could take it home with him.)
6. If you want to keep a delicious machine like this to yourself, plug it in inside of your closet. Like I did.

My all time favorite treat when I’m out and about is a vanilla chai… oh how I love its sweet warm tasty goodness as it caresses my tongue on its way down… I want one now… can I come over and make one?
My second favorite is a mocha cappuccino with it’s foamy milky top and hint of chocolate — not to mention the high speed buzz that accompanies it shortly after the first sip. Man! I can get a lot done after one of those!

I LOVE Starbucks Peppermint Mocha… but it’s quite pricey, so it’s only an occasional treat. I would love to have this to make hot fancy beverages part of my morning routine!
I used to work for Starbucks so I have many favorites! I love the pumpkin spice lattes but I can’t afford them anymore! This machine would be such a blessing!

This would be fantastic in our house – we are constantly making coffee and then, sadly, throwing it away because between the two of us, we just can’t drink it all.
With that being said, my favorite drink would have to be either peppermint hot chocolate or chai tea from Starbucks. Being that we are financially tight right now, Starbucks has been out for a long time and while I’ve tried to make these drinks at home, they just.don’t.taste.the.same. At all. From everything I’ve read, this machine may bring that taste back in our home

I like a light breakfast blend with splenda and half and half. If I am at a starbucks, I will usually get a Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte. I have the Keurig, which I like. Like you – I could never go back to “pot coffee” – but I am a little bummed that Keurig does not offer the steamed milk disks like that TASSIMO. Boo.
Any kind of hot tea or cocoa. Or maybe a hot tottie on Christmas Eve…

I love chai but think that Mayorga’s happens to be the best around. It is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. When I can’t make it to Mayorga, a vanilla latte does the trick. And this time of the year, I like Starbucks’ Gingerbread Lattes.

Oh my gosh, this sounds AMAZING! Hmm I have so many favorites! I’m a huge fan of vanilla chai tea lattes, but I think this would be even better to have for the purpose of making my seasonal favorites all year round! I know others have said this, but Starbucks White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha with non-fat milk, mmm delicious!

During the winter months I live for Starbucks Peppermint Mochas, but year round I survive off of Hazelnut Americanos…I like a REALLY strong coffee!
My favorite cup of coffee or tea is the first one of the day. The flavor of that first drink changes from one time to the next. Caramel Macchiatto is always near the top of my list.
I absolutely love my coffee/Latte from Starbucks . It is so much more that just getting coffee. It is the opportunity to stop and take a break from the day and get recharged. The ability to keep myself recharged at work without having to drive in the traffic would definitely be a plus for myself and my co-workers.

I love a chai latte, but I don’t order them often. First, they are so very expensive. Second, the coffee place adds sugar to the mix, and since I try not to have so much sugar, it’s a very rare treat.

I had been a tea drinker for 62 years, to the point of carrying my own tea bags for years as many people never used to serve tea nor keep it in the house. About 5 years ago a friend urged me over and over again to try coffee with him I finally gave in and tried it–with double cream and double sugar! I have finally reduced the amount of cream and sugar to one of each. Also, I would not order coffee in a restaurant unless I was assured it was freshly made (I still do that if I have any doubts). At home I would dump whatever was left at the end of the day (I only made 2 cup pots at that time). My son encouraged me to turn the coffee maker off instead of wasting the coffee. I now heat up the leftovers on the stove the next day, now I make a 4 cup pot! I rarely order coffee out any place except McDonalds, because I can get Senior pricing, even though it is 50/50 chance of being any good. I would like to try one of the single cup makers as I live alone but cannot afford to invest in one. Thanks very much, Sue K

Chai Tea Lattes…so yummy!
This is probably boring, but my favorite coffee drink is from a local non-Starbucks store. They buy, roast and brew their own coffee and they blend their own coffees, too. They have a house blend that’s the smoothest coffee I’ve ever tasted. I am quite addicted to it.
Perhaps they should call it “the heroin blend”.
My favorite tea is the “Masala chai” – it is a special chai latte with a dash of cardamom seeds and honey.
My favorite is Starbucks African coffee! Love the strong aroma and blend and it helps wake up this sleepy Mommy!

Coffee…it’s an amazing thing isn’t it? My favorite coffee is the pot I make myself, rising groggy from the bed. I suspect my eyes don’t open fully until I have ground the beans, filled the French press and warmed the milk. It would be a little bit of heaven to have a machine do it for me – different but just as good or better. Ethiopian beans are my favorite.

My dear son in law never shows up at our door without a hot Americano in hand to give to his mother in law. I would love to have this Tassimo to be able to treat him to something special when he visits.
My favorite coffee is Kona Coffee as I grew up in Hawaii & now that I’m living on the mainland, I can’t get enough Kona Coffee.

My favorite tea is stash chai green tea, with cream and sugar. The green tea gives me energy, and I love the flavor the spices add. I love any chai tea!

I start my commute every day with a cup of 7-11 coffee because I run around the house like a mad momma trying to get the boy outta bed, cat fed, dog walked and myself presentable for a long days work! I really don’t have enough time to wait for the coffee to brew and not to mention – I really CAN NOT get this coffee brewing to a science for a cup of joe, so I spend $1.56 daily on this cup of coffee, NOT to mention, the 20 minutes of my valuable time at this coffee shop!
I like the way my husband makes coffee. Or maybe it’s that he brings it to me in bed and wakes me to the smell of warm coffee.
I love a cafe latte, my favorite hot coffee drink! Chai too, really miss being able to buy these since I moved away from my favorite coffee shop.

I go back and forth for my absolute coffee shop favorite, a double expresso latte with either vanilla or raspberry shots (I’ve had to tell the baristas at times that they can’t put the raspberry in until AFTER, otherwise it turns the drink ’sour’
I would LOVE to have this awesome machine sitting on my kitchen counter. My husband likes plain black coffee (OK, but booring!) and I want each and every kind of flavored coffee drink I find! This would make our lives so much more peaceful! He could have his, I could have mine, and not one cross word would ever cross our lips ever again!!

I know this sounds classless, but my favorite coffee is plain ole black Paul Newman’s at McDonald’s.
I travel a lot for work, and the convenience of driving in and out probably has something to do with it. But, I love that it’s low acid and is so flavorful at the same time!

My favorite is the peppermint mocha available at Seattle’s Best Coffee this time of year. I only get one per year because of the high calorie count. The rest of the year, I order a simple double tall, non-fat latte. Even though, it’s plain enough, I can’t get it to taste the same on my at home espresso machine.

Last year Starbucks has a salted caramel coffee. It was divine. I would gladly pay $5 a cup to see the return of this.

My favorite coffee is coffee itself. I love it black, flavored and even cold. I have a LOVE for coffee.
I love just plain coffee – but it can’t just be any coffee – it has to be perfectly brewed & smooth.
I live alone and could really use a coffee maker that allows for just one cup when alone or more when friends are over…especially those white chocolate mochas!
I love coffee and drink it every day and so does everyone in my family. I purchased another coffee maker very simular to the Tassimo for my mother for CHRISTmas because it was a better deal than I could get on a Tassimo. But, the truth be known is that I want a Tassimo for myself and if I don’t get this brand I will never be satisfied.

I love hot chocolate and chai tea but what I am currently able to make at home never tastes as good as what I am able to purchase at a coffee shop – the Tassimo could change all of that for me!

okay….so, i purchased the machine which is $169. However, in order to try their coffee – you have to spend a like amount to see which ones you like. It does not come with any coffee discs – BIG MISTAKE – and you have to wait 3 weeks to get a variety pack – BIG MISTAKE…so you buy a bag of discs, guessing what you may like – NOT…and do that 6 times @ $10.00 per bag – average – poor marketing, in my opinion. The coffee…it’s pretty good – but not much different than my Senseo – which came with several kinds of pods to try. I don’t like the Kurig because I like foam!!! So I use both the senseo and the tassimo…
Being able to make a caramel latte at home would be perfect! I love any caramel hot drink!

My favorite morning coffee is Starbucks decaf espresso for the bold flavor mixed with just enough regular Cafe Verona for the pick-me-up effect.
The best cup of coffee I ever had was in New York City a few years ago after an ice storm – can’t remember the shop but it was pure gold!
