I shower, use deodorant, love perfume, wash my clothes in a pleasingly scented laundry detergent, love body lotion and even hide dryer sheets under my car mats to keep the inside smelling fresh. Why? Because I adore good smells. More than that, I cringe at the opposite.
None of this may seem unusual to you but I’ll bet I’ve got more violent nostril offenders, pound for pound, in my house than you do.
Add a husband, two kids and a love for cooking & eating spicy food to the mix and you’ve got one smelly house. But not if I can help it!
For years, I’ve used Frebreze spray in our home to keep furniture and the dog beds smelling fresh. Now they’ve come out with Febreze NOTICEables and I was only too happy to test them out on my gassy, panting brood. I wasn’t surprised in the least how wonderful these plug-in worked. They filled my house with pleasing aromas that even the biggest offenders weren’t able overpower.

I use a lot of those kind of plug ins. I am also using sweet smelling dryer sheets. Nothing smells better at the end of the day than crawling into freshly laundered sheets. I do plan on trying the dryer sheets underneath the mats in my car, I have never heard of doing that before. I usually don’t like using those hanging cardboard air fresheners, they smell too fake.
My worst offender is my 15 year old son. He loves sports and boy do his clothes smell when he comes home from soccer practice. I spray his soccer bag and shingards with Febreeze since I can’t wash them easily and then the wet smelly clothes go into the tub in the spare bathroom to dry so they don’t mold (and I can just close the shower door) until I can pre-rinse them and then throw them in the wash.
The floors. My mama always told me that if the floors are clean, the rest will look cleaner. That and the kitchen counter tops.

I think the worst smells that come into the house are from my husband’s hobbies (especially fly fishing!). So I’ve instituted a “no fish guts in the house” policy. When he comes home from fishing, all of his clothes go immediately into the washing machine!
We have newly acquired a cat. She is an adorable creature, filled with love and a rather smelly rear end. I have been faithfully scooping out the litter box every day, but this past weekend, it smelled so bad I didn’t know what to do. It turns out you’re supposed to actually empty out the ENTIRE litter pan every once in a while. So. Um. Yeah. I guess you long time cat owners already knew that, didn’t you? (I also learned the baking soda in the bottom of the litter box trick recently. What other secrets are you cat owners holding out on us newbies?)
I’m the world’s worst housekeeper, but I scrub my kitchen daily – since it’s where we eat I really like cutting back on germs there. What’s the most noticeable, though, is when I vacuum up the carpets – everything seems to smell better and look brighter!

I do love a clean home! I use bleach and water to wipe down the counters ,phones, doorknobs, fridge and the floors. I love the clean scent of Febreze candles, the fresh linen is my favorite!
I have a funny story,I spray Febreze on different things and after I vacuumed I sprayed the floor. My cats will not walk on the floor anymore. I have to hand carry them to the kitchen, they will sit in the chair and let me know they want me to pick them up. Its too funny and I have never heard of this!!LOL

I have 6 adult cats and 5 kittens….so I pretty much spend my evenings after work cleaning out litter box after litter box. Even though..there are still accidents or shall I say “comments” left outside of the litter boxes thus resulting in odors that are harder to quell. I would really like to try these new aromatic room fresheners. If they work I will start buying them by the dozen!
I have two indoor dogs and I have found that vacuuming regularly really helps. I also use Febreze spray on our couches and rugs.
I make sure the trash cans are emptied regularly. So helps with smelliness!
I have a regular cleaning time with my kids picking up and me doing the deeper cleaning. The house gets so bad every day, but this keeps it live-able.
trash goes out IMMEDIATELY, and as we have no dishwasher or garbage disposal, keeping the kitchen stuff clean is imperative.
btw, my daughter gushed over your adorable pets.
She’s right, they’re very cute.
I am a big cleaner. I admittedly clean too much sometimes. I do love scented candles and I find they really freshen a room. Thank you. What a great giveaway.
I rely on baking soda in… the bottom of the trash cans… the drains… the guinea pig cage… everywhere.
Two words: Dyson vacuum. If I could marry my Dyson I would! :-) But don’t tell my hubs that.
haha @ the cute pics! LOVE the parolees one!!

I am obsessed with making my home smell good! I am constantly burning scented candles and use febreze alot!!
I also do regular cleaning of course and use bleach to sanitize! I also love FALL because I can open the windows and get fresh air in!
Thank you for the chance to win!

In my stinky house live 3 boys and one husband…men smell all around. I constantly spray Febreeze on and around them all. Recently discovered Tide with Febreeze, awesome too. And I use the new Febreeze for their aweful smelling tennis shoes. Good lord, they smell.
Vacuum regularly!

I thinnk using bleach on the counters almost every day and vaccuming every other day helps a lot but doesn’t always get rid of everything.
I will try these new febreeze things as I have hte one for Pet ordors that works marvelosu
Best phrase in the history of blogging: “gassy, panting brood.” I think my 2 boys and dog provide the same pot pourri to my home. Maybe Febreze would help!
I use deodorizing spray on the diaper pail to help freshen the baby’s nursery.

We make sure to vacuum the high-traffic areas often and air the rooms out.
We vacuum every other day (mostly because of our dog) and also make sure that the dishes are done and the trash taken out! I would love to try this!
We just started a new rule with our dog. When someone lets him outside they have to wipe down the walls with disinfectant wipes and sweep the floor. It takes only a few minutes and it really helps me control the smell and hair situations.
i use lots of great smelling candles!
My roommates and I each take a room. One gets the bathroom (sucker) one gets the living room and I get the kitchen. Having one person maintain one area is so much more manageable.
I love it when my house smells fresh and clean – consequently I love Febreze especially their allergen reducer as many in my family struggle with allergies. I can attest that it truly does work and I am a big fan!
I try to clean a little each day to keep it from smelling and I don’t leave dishes in the sink!

To keep our home smelling fresh, we take the trash out right away and keep the dog off the furniture and on her own little beds with washable covers throughout the house.
I use a few things to try and keep the house smelling good. With 2 dogs , an cat and a family you have to do something to keep the house from being stinky. I use dryer sheets in my vents. It also helps to put one in your sweeper so when you vacume it puts out a clean scent.
keep the dishes from piling up
The most important thing I do to maintain a clean fresh home is to make sure the air is circular no matter what. There are so many others I do to make our house is fresh and clean. Air refreshers are always must haves plus never leave dirty dishes overnight, pack trash daily, vacuum daily and mop/dust regularly. I dry clean my rugs and bleach towels to sanitize regularly as well, these really help!

Our brand new puppy is sweet. But she does not leave my home smelling that way. With a few sprays of Fabreeze I’m able to relax. Stinkiness vaporized and the fresh smell noticeable!
The most important thing is to open the windows up as much as possible whenever possible to let the fresh air in. THe next thing is to Febreze the sofa, rugs, chairs etc. to keep them fresh smelling.

The most important thing I do to maintain a clean, fresh home is to keep it clean. Vacuum, wash the floors, keep the sink free of dishes, empty the trash, and open a few windows to let the stale air circulate out.
I live where it is warm a lot of the year so I open my windows whenever possible. I love having the fresh air inside especially after cooking something that has left an odor.
Having 7 indoor cats means having to keep the litter boxes clean. I also use a high quality litter and keep plug in’s in the litter box room. Thats how I keep the house fresh smelling.

I think what’s most important is that I try to make sure no one leaves wet towels or other linens lying around, the trash is taken out regularly, and the dishes are clean. (I know, you’d think those are obvious things… but sometimes the most obvious are the ones most likely to be forgotten or neglected.)

I clean surfaces with clorox wipes & swiffer the floors!
I wish I could pretend that I have a clean fresh house. The best I can do right now is to keep the kitchen sink empty.
I keep the kitchen counters and floors relatively clean and keep the garbage can lid on. Of course, usig air-freshener helps too!
I vacuum regularily!!
I like to sprinkle plain baking soda before vacuuming. It gets rid of odors without bothering everyone’s allergies — like some of the scented vacuum powders can.
Thanks!

I like to keep my surfaces clean and open up my sliding glass door and windows for some fresh air. I also love the smell of bleach when I am cleaning. Thanks for the giveaway!
Clorox Wipes! My children all know how to ’swipe’ with these wipes and quickly freshen a space. We also actually use Febreeze and one afternoon chore is to do a 3 second spray in each room. It all helps.
Having quadruplets that are still in diapers (ugggh!) — It is a MUST that the dirty diapers go outside IMMEDIATELY!!! lol!

My housekeeper helps a lot in keeping my home clean and fresh.
I think that the most important thing I do to keep my home clean is use a ton of bleach wipes – seriously, on everything! Helps keep the place pretty clean and germ-free…
As a mom of 4 kids and the owner of an indoor cat & a hubby who works on a farm, we can rack up some odors! I love my Clorox clean-up spray to help combat those odors. Not only does it kill bacteria and germs but leaves the area smelling nice & clean. Thanks for the chance to win!
most important thing for me is opening the windows, even is just for a few minutes every day.
copperllama at yahoo dot com
We open the windows every day, and I have scented diffusers in nearly ever room to keep our space smelling fresh and clean! I also try to use “green” products to avoid harsh-smelling odors when we clean.
my floors are most important to me too keep my home clean. I have 3 kids and a dog. need i say more? ajsahm@gmail.com
I vacuum three times a week and use fragrant candles and sprays.
tamben7996(at)aol(dot)com
constantly dusting and wiping up dog hair
Cleaning – not so much. I AM a candle fanatic, however! The issue there is that my husband is worried I will one day burn down the house by forgetting how many candles I lit and where. I love the idea of NOTICEables as I’m pretty sure they won’t burn down the house.
I open the windows to let fresh air circulate.
I try to sweep and vacuum regularly and anytime the weather permits I like to line dry my sheets, smells like heaven!

My husband does a great job keeping our house clean and fresh. He’s really my secret weapon
I do love keeping the windows open though when the weather is cooperating.

My quick clean fave? Wiping down all surfaces and countertopr with Lysol……Nothing makes the whole house feel fresh like the scent of light bleach….(It’s probably done wonders for my sinuses over the years…no to mention my brain cells….)
Swiffering my hardwood floors every day is a must! Especially with 2 dogs…
I wash the sheets and bedding every week. I also vacuum and mop often. With two big dogs and an active family the floors need to be clean.
I use a hepa pet hair specific vacuum cleaner in conjunction with febreeze to deal with pet odor, it doesn’t help with the litter smell but everything else in my house smells great!
Trying to keep a house clean with three boys AND a husband can be hard so I try to take out the trash daily, keep the floor swept and the dirty, stinky dishes clean!
I really want to give these a try! I love smelly food-scented candles.
We keep our shoes off in the house, and I try my hardest to keep the kids from bringing junk into the house. I throw things away often while they are sleeping or are at school.
xoxo steph
I try to vacuum and Febreeze the couch every few days. Keeps it from smelling like feet and cats!
And I like the banana so I have to add it for no reason
I clean on a regular basis. By clean I mean more than just a pickup. I deep clean. I also keep the trash emptied. With a baby and toddler in the house it’s imperative that the trash get taken out daily. I also refuse to allow laundry to build up. I do, on average 2 loads every day. I also keep plug ins in the higher outlets so the boys can’t reach and/or I burn nice light smelling candles.
I use the citrus scented cleaners and air fresheners, the scent seems 2 last longer than most.
The fresh rain cleaners just help my house smell cleaner.
The most important thing I do is to keep up on chores. If I remember to take the garbage out everynight and to keep the cat box clean and the cat hair vacuumed up the house smells good. If I slack off I get odors.

The most important thing I do to keep my house smelling fresh and clean is to clean out the litter boxes. I have 6 cats and 3 kittens…(free kittens…no waiting!) I clean out the boxes at least twice a day if not more. The litter I use is good at taking care of the smells in the box but saddly if I don’t keep up with the twice a day program…my little darlings go somewhere that they think is cleaner. . . . like the middle of my living room carpet. Thus I am a slave to the cat box.
I burn wickless candles (in places Emma can’t reach!) and empty the kitchen trash and the diaper trash several times a week… I Swiffer Wet the kitchen floor with nice smelling wet pads and will spray Febreeze on the carpet & furniture when Turbo & Batman have started to leave “smells” on them
I’m all about candles when company is arriving and I’ve got no time to clean. We use Febreze in the bathroom to freshen things up. I’m constantly cleaning the kitchen. Nothing like a smelly garbage bag to put me in a bad mood.
How do I keep my house smelling fresh?? Well, with one husband, one 10 year old son, 4 indoor cats and 2 indoor/outdoor dogs it can certainly be a rather daunting challenge. I tend to vacuum often, using some pet freshening carpet sprinkle stuff, wash the dog bedding OFTEN (especially if it has been raining), keep the litter boxes clean, keep the kitchen extra clean (cuz those food odors tend to linger if you don’t eliminate them quickly), use scented oil plug-ins, and occasionally a scented candle or two. It’s a chore to keep up with it, but I love my family, my animals and I love a clean, fresh-smelling house too!! If I could find a product that would help me have more “me” time and less cleaning time… then I might just get a chance to sit down!

cleaning service, every other week, is a must!
First off, I gotta tell you how much I love your site. You are a riot!
OK, now on to the question. I have 8 dogs and three teenage girls. It is a constant battle to keep my house fresh. No kidding, I am shampooing carpets just about every other day to keep the smells out of the house. I am a bleach freak and LOVE scent! There are a billion candles in my house and on any given day, you can find a minimum of three light at a time.

when I just had one child, I cleaned all the time and kept my house smelling fresh. And then I had another child and that all went to hell. So now I burn candles like a pyro and try to cover up the dirt/dog hair smell. (makes you want to come over, doesn’t it?)
so I could use some Febreze and/or $100.
thanks!

I love to open all of the windows and let the fresh air in. I also use Febreeze on all of the soft furnishings. I don;t let dirty dishes sit in the sink and take out the trash daily. I Love scented candles and plug ins. All those other pesky chores need to be done as well, like vacuuming, dusting, bathrooms-ugh!
Cat box deodorizer. Since I’m in a small place, that is a must. As is changing the litter often.
Also, I like to open the windows, even in winter, to get some fresh air.
I vacuum close to every day, and Febreze the furniture often.
I keep my kitchen clean because it is the center of my house and if something is smelly it is usually in there either in the sink or the trash so by keeping that area clean and clear, it keeps the rest of the house in order.
Anita, You are my winner!!!!
