Many of you already know the story: woman goes into labor, passes out in between contractions in the car on the way to the hospital and wakes up screaming in the McDonald’s drive thru. Well, as I predicted, the universe is getting him (the man who was driving the car, the man who needed an Egg McMuffin while his wife, my sister, was in excruciating pain) back.
How?
The piece I wrote about my brother in law’s hunger driven detour has been picked up for syndication which means that online newspapers all throughout the country will carry the story this week. Which also means that women far and wide will suck their teeth and shake their heads while men chuckle and wonder how long he’ll be in the dog house for that stupid stunt.
I call that perfect timing. (I also call it justice.)
Speaking of perfect timing, back to school shopping is here and now and so is my laptop giveaway. Head on over to my review blog and tell me about your back to school memories. I want to know what back to school tools or rituals you had vs. what your children have today.

As a teacher, I like to stock up on a ton of pencils, notebooks, binders, and lined paper for my students (6th graders) who cannot afford it. Oh, and I like to find a few days where I can sleep in till 9 and then relax with a cup of coffee.
Great blog you have here. I have a humor blog as well and I would like to exchange links with you. Let me know, either by email or through my site, if this is possible. Jason
That is awesome! I hope everyone picks it up!
One of my very good friends had the same thing happen to her! Her husband stopped at Burger King to get some food before they hit the hospital. At the time she was ok with it because her contractions were not horrible. It was late and the line was full of drunk people buying late night munchie food and the line was long and moving slow. Her contractions were coming harder and faster and they were stuck in the line and couldn’t get out! They made it to the hospital right in time. Funny to see some other guy did the same thing. I will have to forward her your link. Have a good one!
I had alot to say so I blogged about it.Here is the link to the post on my blog (2nd paragraph) about my own rituals vs. my kids rituals of today.

We got a new pair of tennis shoes every school year. It was a big deal because you didn’t get a new pair until the next school year unless you out grew yours during the school year!
My girls won’t even wear tennis shoes. They live in their crocs. Not sure what they are going to do this winter. I guess I will deal with that then though!
I’m glad that post got syndicated. It was awesome!
