Yesterday, my husband called from San Francisco with an interesting question.
Him: Hey honey…this may sound weird but is it possible that Max and Clyde aren’t male?
Me: Huh?
Him: Well, I was just home and around those two cats all week. I came back to Dick and the thing is…he’s got, um, a penis.
Me: Don’t Max and Clyde have penises?
Him: I don’t think so, honey. They have more of a traffic light…like a girl.
Me: Girls have traffic lights?
Him: Listen, all I can tell you is that Dick has a penis and I’m pretty sure Max and Clyde don’t.
Me: But they came with boy paperwork from the animal shelter!
Him: I know.
Me: They’ve been fixed. The doctors have to know what sex they are!
Him: I don’t know what to tell you…
Me: Send me a picture of Dick’s penis.
Him: What???
Me: I want to see what you’re talking about. Maybe Dick is just especially endowed. Or maybe they leave more when they fix cats in CA as opposed to VA.
Him: Dick is not like Max and Clyde. He will KILL me if I try to take crotch pictures of him.
Me: Ugh…fine. I’ll ask the internet.
Is it possible that these sweet, angelic, fuzzy MALE cats…
…are indeed female?

Well, I haven’t a clue but I would ask my vet if they’d been spayed or neutered. Maybe you still have the paperwork that says what was done. That should be definitive.

Even though your cats were neutered, they will still have their scrotum sac (but empty, obv). And that third thing is where their little penis is hiding.
That gives a new meaning to ’show me the money’. LOL
I have no clue what sex your cats are. We thought our barn cat was a girl for ages until one vet visit the Dr. announced his testicals had dropped and changed his chart from female to male.

I think they are males. They have three “things”. A female, obviously, only has two.
It is harder to determine on kittens since the scrotum is not dropped but on mature cats, esp. fixed cats, you can see the “landmarks”.
So, I say boys….I think. ;-)
(I tried to compare to my fixed boy but he is so danged fuzzy, I can hardly see ONE thing!)
The boys don’t always show – um – their equipement – off. Some of them keep it hidden. I’m assuming Dick is just a show off. Looks like boy stuff to me!
I had a beatiful white kitty with a pink nose and ears. I was told she was a girl. She LOOKED LIKE a girl. I named her Hannah. The vet informed me that she was a he so I changed his name to Hanibal. That name never stuck and so for the rest of his life he was Hannah the cat with a sexual identity complex.
Is the one in the back of the 3rd photo down a calico? Because all calico’s are female. The gene that creates a calico coat is found only in female cats. In the picture it looks like there is some orange and other colors to the coat… It may just be the photo.

But more importantly I wanted to say a big Thank You! Today the UPS came by or maybe I should call him the Muffin Man, he brought my prize, 5 glorious boxes of Little Debbie Muffins and we are thrilled. Started with the double chocolate for dessert tonight, blueberry for breakfast in the morning and possibly chocolate chip for lunch time snacking. That still leaves the yummy lemon or cranberry orange for the rest of the week. We, my husband and 3 boys are very happy, thanks so much for the chance to win.

I can’t help you out, though. I told my dad that the cat that adopted him (are you ready for his VERY ORIGINAL name? It’s: Cat. Seriously. The cat named Cat.) was a male.
