Our weekend was jam packed with goodness – including the weather. I actually got a little sunburn (bad girl, I know). I do hope yours was just as pleasing. Here is a run down of what we did because I know you care. Right? Well, let’s just go with that…

The circus was a lot of sugar and overestimation of the senses which, of course, was right up our alley.

They fit like 7 motorcycles inside that ball. It was CRAZY.
After the circus, I barbecued chicken and we all played Rock Band for hours. I think my mom would have kept going if I didn’t tell her I was about to fall over ready for bed. She claimed that she didn’t know all of “this heavy metal stuff” but she sure seems to catch on quick.

Sunday, we got out early to pick up some plants for the flower beds and veggies for the garden.

We tried to only buy plants that the deer would not think of as their own personal salad bar but I couldn’t resist grabbing a couple of these beautiful rhododendron.

My mother and I planted about a million tomato plants, a few basil, some onions, and a couple of pepper plants. We added lavender and rosemary around the perimeter in order to dissuade the deer. We’ll see. As soon as it stops pouring buckets this week I’m adding the Irish Spring bars of soap that people keep telling me about. Apparently, the deer hate the smell. I sure hope so!

We collapsed into bed last night after a wonderful and busy couple of days. Now it’s Monday and rainy. Belch.
So… how was YOUR weekend?

I, too, got a bit of a sunburn this weekend. Spent Saturday at the ballpark..made enemies with my neighbor..(blogged about THAT). And then spent Sunday laying on the family room floor with my family, enjoying the warm breeze from outside(it was overcast and I didn’t feel like being outside because of mentioned neighbor), watching a marathon of John & Kate Plus 8, and then topped it off with ordered pizza, movie night with the kids (Bedtime Stories is SO cute!) and heading to bed early.
That *is* a good weekend. Hope the deer get the message because that garden sounds like it’s going to look wonderful with those new additions.
We had awesome weather on Saturday and then it was crappy on Sunday. I spent Saturday with my niece, playing outside and pushing her on the swing. And then she gave me a manicure.
I tell you, a 70-degree day in Chicago in April will almost make you forget about winter!
Aren’t Azaleas & Rhododendrons like deer Haagen-Dazs? I’m thinking having the deer wash their hooves with Irish Spring before dining may be a good idea. Now if you can get them to leave a tip when they are done eating at the Petro Cafe, you’ll be all set.
It WAS fun – all but the dead battery – but even that worked out fine thanks to your mechical ability (and cell phone connection to the mechanic wizzard!) You certainly got your wish for rain today! See you before you know it! I hope I can muster up some interest in practicing Rock Band again!
I spent all day Saturday at Jason’s rugby game. While the game was not terribly exciting, the weather was. I also picked up a little sun and enjoyed several walks with the dog.
I, too, had a lovely weekend – although I didn’t plant anything. I wish I had the green thumb to grow stuff!!
Kim, not trying to be bad or mean here, but just how many glasses of wine did you drink before you posted this? (Maybe it was beer from the belch at the end) I just got a good giggle at the typo’s and had a cute mental picture of a bored Kimberly after a glass or two typing away.
That was some weekend you had! That vehicle you had was a huge one as well.
*sigh* I so need an editor…
Actually, it was not wine but a lack of coffee that caused those errors (which I hope I have now fixed). I wrote this post Monday morning and then ran out the door before really giving it a good look over. Obviously, right?
I love those pink flowers!! LOVE!!
My weekend was much less busy than yours. I slept. Ate. Slept. Ate. Slept. Ate. Slept. And went back to the grind on Monday.
And OBVIOUSLY there was a picture of my cat taken somewhere in there. But I’m only the pervert who took the picture, WHAT ABOUT THE PERV WHO COMMENTED?! =)
P.S. It looks like it must have been a tight fit with ten motorcycles in there. Ouch.
I had a fantastic weekend too! Bella and I headed for my brother’s…Odenton, MD…where we joined my mom and sister-n-law for some girl time! Shopping, food and more food! We managed to stop at this park right near the BWI airport…we pulled a blanket out, sat and watched all the planes coming in for landing. Bella got a kick of how close she was to the airplanes!
BTW, no mint for your garden? We planted ours…for all the summer mojitos!! Priorities…My husband bought that “as seen on tv” hanging tomato planter…haven’t hooked it up yet, but he’s thrilled to own the damn thing….we’ll see….
I would have been the same way without my dr pepper. I gave me a giggle tho and that was what was needed. I thought it was out of character for you because usually your posts are perfection personified. Hugsssssssss! PS: I make a great editor… just don’t ask me to do my own. *snicker*
