Now Serving Meets The Manic Mommies

Tuesday, March 31st 2009

The Manic Mommies interviewed my brilliant cousin, Meredith, this week. The interview is about how she founded the popular site, Okinawa Hai, which connects military families over in there in Okinawa. Their chat also covers my cousin’s newest project, something we are working on together, Now Serving.

The fabulous Manic Mommies, Kristen & Erin, describe the podcast like this:

ManicMommies

We welcome Meredith Novario, a military mom with two kids (plus one on the way), who founded the web site “Okinawa Hai!” a hub for military families in Okinawa, Japan to connect and share resources. She shares with the Manic Mommies the joys and challenges of living life as a military wife and mom – how would you cope if you had to move every three years?? – as well as her newest venture, Now Serving.

You can listen to the podcast here: itunes | mp3

And as Kristen said, “Coming soon: World domination.” Love her.

PS- My cousin outed me ON AIR as a “blogger lover”. I have no idea what that means but it sounds dirty…and fun. Now you have to listen, right?

So far, Meredith and I have launched three Now Serving hubs, or geo-forums, as we like to call them.

Now Serving Hampton Roads
Now Serving Okinawa
Now Serving Quantico

Next up: Now Serving Germany & Now Serving Las Vegas

Are you or do you know someone in the military that is stationed in any of those areas?
Please let us know. The more the merrier.

*Big thanks to the Manic Mommies for featuring Meredith on one of their hilarious podcasts. I enjoyed every minute of it – especially the shout out to my uncle and the Grecian goddess love. You girls rock in a big way. Mwah!

  • Hey, blogger lover! I’m listening right now… too cool! Y’all are famous!

  • KLG

My family is military. I was actually born at Quantico just before they closed the maternity section of the hospital. My father retired just outside of Quantico and my mom works at the HS. I will pass this site on to her and her friends. Let me know if I can do more to help.

    Great idea and great sites!

  • I grew up an AF brat and then married the military… All done now but this is a fantastic idea!! Go for it! Hugs!

  • Talk to me, Goose.
