Decide to Delurk

Monday, January 12th 2009

Delurking Day is the day that everyone comes out from behind their readers to click through and say something. Anything. It is a blessed day in the blogosphere. Rejoice & comment!
Thanks Rude Cactus. You rock.

Looks sexy, no? And you don’t even have to flash me back. Just leave a comment.

Well, what do you want to talk about? Here are some choices:

1. Tell me if you are a lurker.
2. Tell me what you did this weekend.
3. Tell me what you’re making for dinner tonight.
4. Tell me a story.
5. Tell me you love me.

xo

You love me. You really love me.

  • Was I really first? I’m never first. That ruled.

  • Well I’m not a lurker, I post comments when I feel I should…but I didn’t figure I better leave your site without saying something….SO….

    Tonight we’re having meatloaf!

  • My husband is totally making chili for dinner tonight! Waiting for me when I get home!!

  • I think I”ve commented before…do love your blog

  • anonymous

I mostly lurk. Mostly because you are so awesome and clever and witty, and I don’t think the mangled mush that emanates from my brain would look all that tidy on your site. Over the week-end I finished writing my “holiday” cards. Not that I’m particularly proud to be so far behind the game, but because last year was a very difficult year (I know! for lots of folks!), and I needed to have a concrete way to put part of it behind me. So, there’s that. Now this is my 2nd de-lurking of the day and I’m starting to feel vulnerable, so I’ve gotta’ go.

  • I’m a half-assed comment maker. Or maybe a half-assed lurker. Half-full?

Tonight for dinner? I’m making…. my husband cook! I hate cooking. Well, I hate the cleaning up after part worse than the actual cooking part. Either way. Take-out thrives in my life.

  • Hmm.
I am a lurker and I do love you.

Tonight I am making Mojito Salmon.

  • not a lurker…but i don’t comment as much as i should but i’m here! and i’m making ziti for dunner. i know, you are thrilled by this information, i can feel it!

  • Cindy

I baked bread this week-end…..challah….yummy and easy :-)
since I’m alone tonight it will be toast and tea…..delicious!

  • Not a lurker.
    I love you.
I’m having chicken and low-fat, tasty mac n’ cheese for dinner.

  • 1. Tell me if you are a lurker. No – I comment all the time over here.

    2. Tell me what you did this weekend. A whole lot of nothing thanks to football.

    3. Tell me what you’re making for dinner tonight. Ask my husband. It’s probably gonna be up to him. I’m working late.

    4. Tell me a story. Once upon a time, there was a beautiful mommy who lived in Vegas and everyone who visited her blog and commented received three wishes….

    5. Tell me you love me. I love you. MWAH!

  • I don’t think I am a lurker. I comment when I have something to say. As for this weekend: We started gutting our house. FUN! We are in the middle of a remodel.

  • I lurk a lot, but I comment when feel the need to put forth the effort. It’s not you, it’s me.

I celebrated my birthday this weekend.

We’re having chicken enchiladas for dinner tonight. Thanks for reminding me – I should get on that soon!

Hmm.. a story. If I could write a good story that was worth reading, I’d be quit my job as “daycare mom” and be an author instead. Sorry, that’s why I read opb’s (other people’s blogs) way more often than I write on my own.

Love ya! And I’m going to steal the delurking image from ya, k? *kisses*

  • Lori

    Hey there…I don’t consider myself a lurker…I’m not good at words…that’s why I usually don’t post anything.

I ate way to much this past weekend…..Todai Restaurant on Sat and Cracker Barrell on Sunday…my parents were here. If you like sushi…Todai is delicious!

Didn’t make anything for dinner…husband is out of town, so we are wingin it! Plus, we have basketball practice in an hour…which I need to leave to go to right now.

    Love you!

  • ceressa

Dinner! who’s making dinner, I’ve been eating cake ALL DAY!!!!
    Damn that cake

    but I love you!

  • You might think I’m a lurker because I seldom comment but I had to come out of the shadows today.

Over the weekend I baby-sat and got new tires and cleaned and cooked a little and baked and did laundry and packed my suitcase and watched a football game and drove to Louisiana.

Dinner tonight will be in a restaurant.

    Love you, love your blog.

  • Howdy! Total lurker Your blog is one of the ones that make my boring days much less so. I would love to say something witty and interesting, but I’ll have to get back to you on that.

  • Detje Bea

I am a lurker. I love your journal and I don’t know why I don’t comment. I guess I am just lazy. LOL I did nothing all weekend. I came down with a cold so I have been nursing myself back to health. I will probably open a can of soup for dinner since I just got through cooking for my daughter and I don’t feel like making anything special for myself. Have a fantastic evening.

  • I love you and I read your blog, and I have left comments here for you before in the past. Delurkers! Come on out and show us your selves,.

  • Of course I love you!

    Josh made spaghetti tonight.

  • God, that was a boring comment.

  • Mark

    Ahhh, my weekend?
It included doing the Virginia Reel in a Civil War era dancing in Gettysburg PA……

  • It’s all about the blog love. Happy Delurking Day!!

  • KLG

I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and love your stories. I don’t remember how I found you, but I’m glad I did.

  • Not a lurker, but I haven’t commented in a while. Can you re-lurk yourself and then delurk?

    I still love you.

We had pork chops and mashed sweet potatoes and green beens.

  • 1. Yup, I read you every day but I don’t comment (mostly because my company blocks most blogs from being let through to our computers at work…humph!)
    2. We had a snow storm, but before that we took the dog to the doggy wash (its a dog wash room at a car wash place) then we went to Sam’s club for diapers, then we went to our vet to have our dogs nails trimmed. on sunday we drove out to Long Island for a baptism
    3. dinner’s already over, we had leftovers of the dinner my husband made on Saturday night. a pasta primavera baked dish…it was an experiment and was delicious
    4. My cat is flipping out right now for no reason.
    5. I LURVE YOU.

  • I’m here, just crappy at commenting.

    Love you! LOL

  • Hrumph, so apparently I didn’t comment quick enough to avoid taking shit for it…

Anyway, this weekend I cleaned house and cooked (a lot). That way I can make everyone eat leftovers for the rest of the week.

  • OMG! You made my day!!!!!

And we’re totally BFF’s now. I promise to never lurk ever again!!

  • I’m here. And I totally ordered pizza for dinner because I’m going away with my 2 1/2 year old tomorrow with no husband and I deserve pizza for that. Ha. I love your blog!

  • Not a lurker, but almost like one since I’ve fallen from the map. Happy New Year Kimberly! Love ya!

  • Damn, girl – how do you do it? I can’t get no one to comment on my blog. It’s so quiet there I can hear myself think – and that’s never good! I love you. I never know what’s for dinner until the smoke detector goes off, then I look down and call it “done”!
PS – impressed with your friend, the challah maker. another Jewish princess perhaps? Shalom!

  • Kerry

Delurking, tho I may have commented once or twice. OH yeah, with a cookie recipe

  • I lurk, but I comment, too.
Are we doing lunch on Thursday?
    xo
    LBC

  • Chrissy

I am totally at Petroville lurker! But it is because I love you. Went snow tubing this weekend with the kids. Learned a little about gangs yesterday at a training. Learned my friend from grade school passed from bone cancer. Back at work after 5 days off, yuck!

  • I’m a long time reader, mostly a lurker, but I have left a comment or two.

I really enjoy your blog and wish that I had a following even half the size of yours.

And, oh yeah,…this weekend I went to a surprise birthday party and took pictures, then on Sunday I went to a baptism and took pictures and then I went to the movies and saw “Gran Torino”. It was nice to be able to be up and running around after suffering from what had to be the Black Plague for the last month.

    And,.. I love you.

  • Haha, you definitely got me! I just turned 23. I haven’t been to Santa Cruz yet, but we’re dying to go.

I know I’m definitely this starry-eyed kid still (kinda) but what’s been so great for me finding all of these blogs like yours is finding women that I can see as examples of people who have “grown up” but still kept their sense of humor, who haven’t lost their own individuality and personal identity – which is, of course, my worst fear as far as the real world goes. I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy road for me, but finding out about women who have been able to strengthen rather than lose their sense of self is definitely reassuring

  • kissashark

I am kind of a lurker though I found your blog a couple years ago and thought I commented once or twice then. I always feel weird about commenting on a new blog I like….strange I know.
This weekedn was dull and hard for me in ways I don’t really want to go into, but I did get new sneakers for walking my pooch and a new CD that I like…it’s Ne-Yo btw.
Tonight will be a Kroger rotisserie chicken with veggies and mac n cheese or rolls or something…don’t feel like really cooking.
    I don’t have any stories today….
I do love your blog and I think your house is AMAZING!

  • I’m a regular reader…definately not a lurker!

  • Missy

I am a total lurker, I have been lurking for a couple years. I don’t think I have ever commented. I think your blog is fabulous. This weekend just like every other weekend in the winter I had to work, I work at a Ski Resort so working weekends are manditory (can’t wait until April when I get my weekends back) The kids like it though they get to snowboard all day, can’t complain though I don’t know any other job where you can bring your kids to work with you. The kids and I made Venison Burgers and Fries for dinner ~ yum!

    I love your blog!

    ~ Missy

  • [...] only if every day was Derlurking Day. *sigh* No, seriously, that was fun. I had no idea that you guys (the 41 of you that actually [...]

  • So I’m a day late and I usually comment every once in a while, but still- I’m here! And I read regularly!

  • I am still here. I read you in my reader!!! So I really am not a lurker.

  • ChrisinNY

I lurk! Most days (M-F). I am not cooking dinner because I had the foresight when first married to insist that my husband do half of the cooking (and tonight is his night!).

  • I lurk. Sorry I’m late. I think I got pulled away yesterday before I had a chance to respond.

  • Talk to me, Goose.
