I’m heading out to San Francisco tomorrow and, frankly, the trip could not come at at better time. I need a change of pace, a breath of fresh air, a new perspective.
There’s nothing “wrong” with my life but recently I’ve been feeling stagnant and antsy and suffocated. And fat. (But really? Let’s not go there.)
Even an act as simple as driving around my beautiful county gets me peeved right now. All the damn election signs are making my blood pressure rise. I fantasize about stopping the car, ringing doorbells and screaming “WHY???”. That’s clearly a sign that I need to get a grip, I know.
I’m hoping that my old friend California will rejuvenate me. Let’s hope so or you may see me on the news. On the up side, I think I could be a wicked cool incarcerated blogger. Wait. Do they even let you blog from the big house?

Ah yes, the solidly left coast. Welcome to the golden shore!
We still have some with those maddening signs, though. I don’t do signs. It’s like, woo-hoo! Look at me and what I believe in! And you should too!
Whatever.
I went to my friend’s house the other day and the neighbor had put thier McCain-Palin sign on the little strip on the other side of the driveway, closest to my friends property line, who I know is an Obama supporter, and it seriously looked as if this sign was my friends, not the neighbors.
If they’re such great supporters that they want to put out the sign, WHY don’t they put the sonofabitch squarely in the center of their property?
She said she was thinking of putting up an Obama sign and if she put it on the edge of her property, it would be RIGHT NEXT to the other one! But she didn’t want to get into it.
I told her it was lucky I didn’t live there. I’d be all, “Get that piece of crap away from my property line!” Or it would quietly disappear.
I so know how you feel!!!! OMG I’m feeling the exact same way and almost escaped to San francisco this past weekend myself-but my stupid car decided to act up! I thought Volvo’s where supposed to be great! oh, Hell no- but anyway- I know how U feel-and you know where to find me- just a beautiful 3 hour drive south- and I have wine- good wine!!! ( it’s wine festival this weekend)
mi casa su casa
Driving through southern Wisconsin and northern Iowa this past weekend, I was struck dumb by the number of McCain/Palin signs. Okay, I wasn’t struck dumb at all. I was struck angry. I feel like living in my little isolated urban community, there was no change for the Republicans to win. But on that trip, I became more and more worried about the whole thing.
Then I ate some cookies.
um, can you take me with you?
Have a great time!
I hope you’re right and a trip to California is just what the doctor ordered. Have some fun!
See you when you get back. Have fun!!
Have a great trip! Can I come too?
My favorite city. I’m jealous. I hope you have a good time. Have a sundae at Ghirardelli’s for me. Extra hot fudge. One spoon.
I am pretty sure they do not have internet access in the big house. Have fun while you are away. Lots of R & R!
Have fun, and whatever you do, DON’T EAT!
Just drink.
