As aerobics instructors, we are trained to get the class talking while they work out - especially during high intensity routines. The logic is that if they’re talking, they’re breathing.
This video was sent to me by Deanna. Thanks for the laugh!
Today, the tables were turned a little as I took my first ever spin class. Our instructor was very sweet, could speak the entire hour she cycled and barely broke a sweat. I only thought about quitting and/or killing her about a million times or whenever I heard her say the word “up”.
Oh, and just because Little Miss Sassy Karma had extra time on her hands this morning while my legs were on fire in spin class, I got my period right there on that damn bike on that damn imaginary hill that kicked my damn ass.

Oh, God, the spin class. I always walked out of there looking like stir fried shit. There was a seven month pregnant lady in my class. I hated her. She always looked so cute with her little belly and her tank top and little shorts. But I gradually got used to it and now I can’t find one at any gym here in Arkansas and I miss it.
your first spin class sucks, but try it again. It takes 3-4 xs to get used to it. I love spinning. I’m not allowed to exercise right now and it sucks. I’m so worried about gaining weight.
I used to do spinning. It was oddly compelling. Those imaginary hills are monsters though.
Were your legs like rubber when you tried to casually walk out? How LONG was your misery?
I’ll never get over Rosie saying Leah-TAHD. I’d bet she’d kill for an 11-12/15/16 body these days.
i cld perfectly identify with yer situation…i had a similar experience wen i attended my first bollywood aerobics class..i felt like a shit while other girls were juz having a ball!..my legs were swollen and i was sweating big time..but now i enjoy working it out on the tunes of hit numbers…persistence works!!..
Getting your period while under physical duress immediately requires you to reward yourself with chocolate and a bottle of red wine.
Spinning…ugh. The pain I feel from that class…I’d rather have a tooth extraction.
I’m with Jodifur, it takes time to adjust to spin. Stick with it some. I’m no spin addict, like some of my friends, but I go once a week and it’s the one class I will not miss if I can help it.
Nancy Reagan is a pez dispenser? Hilarious! Great retro Rosie!
As you know, I am a weirdo… I had a similar experience during my first spin class, so I kept taking those classes like 5 times a week until I finally bought a bicycle of my own, and I’ve been riding that ever since. Pain (when it’s for a good cause!) can be addictive.
