Rolling in SF

Wednesday, July 16th 2008

So, we’re here. Landed in San Francisco last night totally unprepared for the weather. Sure, we used to live in the area but something about dwelling in the 90 degree heat and high humidity during the summers for the last 5 years have wiped the cool, foggy reality of the Bay Area from my own personal hard drive.

I packed colorful sun dresses and flimsy tank tops and flip flops. Long forgotten were the black on black layers and that would have actually kept my teeth from chattering as I mingled with you. Never fear - tomorrow, I’m visiting one of my favorite shopping spots to try and rectify the obvious city girl holes in my wardrobe.

Today, though…today, the family hoofed a million blocks from our digs on Beale to Fisherman’s Wharf where we took in the aquarium and three oh-so-rad 3D movie/rides. We also ate way too much at the Fog City Diner and then tried to walk it off…but that was impossible.

Oh, for all of you (I’ve spied on Twitter) who are getting all gussied up at the hair and nail salon: My week old pre-wedding manicure looks like I’ve been cracking crabs with my bare hands and my hair is one gigantic frizz ball in all of this wind and fog. Yeah, that’s how I’m rolling in.

At least you’ll know how to spot me, right?

If you really love me, feed me in your reader!

I think I remember one other time you went visiting and didn’t bring the right type of clothing. I believe it is where you are now? I hope you warm up soon.

I’m bringing hugs so hopefully that will bring a moment of warmth. In the meantime, at least you are there early enough to buy a sweater.
