In February of 2006, Lindsay and I launched the Perfect Post Awards in order to share personally captivating posts within a supportive community of talented bloggers like you.

Chelsea Talks Smack for I Miss My Younger Me



Chelsea writes, “I looked down at my hands today and I realized I don’t have little kid hands anymore, my hands have signs of work in them, my veins are visible and my fingers are long like my Mother’s.”

I recently had a very similar thought as I looked at my own. Although I feel 20 years old inside, my outside is almost halfway to 40. (That means I’m 34… just for the record.)

She goes on to list a myriad of sweet mentionables that she misses about being a child.

“When I didn’t have to be accountable. When the only fear I knew was that of the dark. When the perfect vacation was one that involved people in costumes with pink cheeks, and parades. When I played house instead of worried about paying for one. When I didn’t know how to tell time and just trusted there was always enough of it.”

I miss those times too, Chelsea, and when I look through my daughters’ eyes, I am that young again. Thank you for reminding me to stop and remember.
