I think that there should be a place where women can go to PMS. A safe place where ladies in need would receive a soft lavender laced bed, free medication (large doses) and complementary spa services until the time in which we are feeling ourselves again. Of course, there would be the very best childcare on site as well. I think the money to fund this center should come from state and federal taxes to support a better tomorrow. Anyone who is in current possession of a uterus is welcome.

I am so with you on this….I am in dire need of it RIGHT NOW!
You know how in some cultures a menstruating woman is considered “unclean” and can’t prepare food and has to go to a hut and stay there for the week and do crafts?
Sounds fan-fricken-tastic to me!

You need to go read “The Red Tent” if you haven’t. Apparently, in Biblical times there WAS a place all the women went to get away when they were OTR or pre-OTR. HA! It’s a great book—one of my favorites. Not because of the PMS…(grin)
Steph.’s last blog post..I need me some “maidequette”
Provided that only women pay the tax. I have un-uterus. On the other hand, though, maybe taxing men would be good too, for the results of the class will help the old guy get some sleep.

Only if us old menopausal broads could have our own wing built on…
pam’s last blog post..Ammunition
That is a brilliant idea. You could win the Nobel peace prize with that concept.
With plenty of chocolate and salty foods. And bacon.
Kristabella’s last blog post..Read Me.
Chocolate …
palm trees?
For me that place is called Starbucks. Unfortunately thought I don’t get to stay there the whole time so your idea is much better :-D
Chris’s last blog post..Kree! Alien 101
I’m there. Whatever you think, I’m sure I’ll be totally down with it.
I am confused though, we’re off. Aren’t we friends anymore? Friends never let friends PMS alone, you know.
Leanne’s last blog post..I’m 37.
This center would have totally been preferable to freaking out in a gas station while hormone-addled.
:S
Loralee’s last blog post..Sideblog: Lunch? Cache Valley Bloggity People?
Brillian! I would go there.
manda’s last blog post..Ban the Rubber Balls
Plenty of massage therapists and margaritas.

OMG! I’m dyin’ ova-here!
DeeJay’s last blog post..Twister Sister Tuesday
If there were such a place, I’d live there two weeks out of every month. PMDD sucks.
Sleeping Mommy’s last blog post..WLW?He gets it.
Sounds absolutely fabulous!!! One question, can you go if it’s not PMS and just in a plain bad mood?
Oh yes. I completely agree.
Maybe I can use my status as a federal government employee to make it happen? (hahahaha! I wish!)
Nancy’s last blog post..Advice welcome!
What about the men? What do we do in the meantime?

Sure Erica! We could have a “bad mood room” as well for non-pms’rs. Maybe we could have Jazzercise classes in there
I think there should be a place where mothers can send their pms-ing teenaged daughters. That would be almost as good. This is my 16 year old on pms
This is me dealing with my 16 year old on pms
Suzanne’s last blog post..This and That
I’d go!
Can we have a dessert room? Ya know, vats of chocolate (for bathing, dunking, drinking, etc) WINE, Cheesecake, ….and icecream.
A whole room dedicated to those things???
Chelsea Talks Smack’s last blog post..WAL*MART is depressing.
I’ve got your “AMEN” right here, sister.
Oh, The Joys’s last blog post..Making the Tough Choices
Oh that is brilliant.
I think it should be paid for with a tax on Viagra. And Beer. And video games that grown men play. And the NFL. And big screen TVs. And…
Um, I’m sorry, where was I?
Oh yes - brilliant idea.

…and we would need a few generic “husbands” there to take our PMS on, so we wouldn’t turn on each other. But they would be Totally under our control.
raehan’s last blog post..Giving It A Rest
We took the kids to visit Waterloo Village (an early-American community and living museum) one year and learned that the Lanape Indians had just such a place - an area, set aside from the rest of the village - where menstruating women and new moms would take it easy, drink herbal teas, give each other messages and, you know, basically just hang out, together.
The kids and hubs were pleasantly surprised.
[places hands on hips]
I, however, was PISSED!
Liz’s last blog post..Wordless Wednesday: Snowless in Jersey
As Steph said, The Red Tent is a great book to read.
The only thing better than having child-care on site would be to pass a law making it mandatory that spouses stay home with the children (with full pay) while we are PMSing so that we can go to the spa alone.
Heather’s last blog post..girls? room
Yes please!
Chatty’s last blog post..Shit Flows Downstream
Maybe we could have an “Emergency” ward… where we could just be put to sleep until the PMS was over. One time Mr. C asked me “If you know you’re being moody, why do you do it?”
If only he understood.
The Cubicle’s Backporch’s last blog post..My own kind of professional
My sister and I used to talk about this all the time. We called our imaginary business “Menstro-huts” because they would be cozy little cottages for being alone, with a space in the middle for meeting if you needed to chat. Lots of lovely linens, pillows, candles, chocolates, fresh tasty drinks…and so on.
Suebob’s last blog post..Neighborhood Gossip
The red tent is a pitiful excuse of a book. Don’t read it. You really won’t garner anything useful from it. It is an exploitation of a woman taken from the Bible and not based on any facts whatsoever. Pure fiction that has mislead many to thinking it is truth.
But your idea - can we do this somewhere tropical?
nice idea…I have a firend who considers her monthly period a world event! I think she needs a place like that..
With an endless supply of chocolate and wine!!
OMG! As long as they’ve got Narpoxen on hand, I am SOOOO there!
A massage or a mani/pedi would be nice, too.
