My Bullets

A list of what’s swirling around in my head right now. I like lists. They soothe me.

- Friday, I started coming down with a head cold. I’m guessing I got it from one of the many sick DC Bloggers on Monday. It could have been worse though. I avoided catching the 24 hour stomach bug that my youngest and husband had last week. Although, those are always good for a losing a few pounds, it looked really painful.

- Speaking of DC Bloggers, the delicious shoes in the picture below belong to PunditMom. She seriously looked hot to trot that night. You go, girl!

- Thanks to all of you who chose to delurk on Thursday. I love meeting the people that I never knew read my blog and also reconnecting with those that I haven’t spoken to in a while. This blogging thing sure has a life of it’s own. Are you still in the same circles you were when you began blogging?

- This blog is going to be a 3 year old on January 31st. I don’t normally stick to things that long so I’m looking at this as progress. How long have you been blogging?

- I refused to pay a crazy price or stand in insane lines for a Wii this holiday season. The plan was to get one afterwards which we finally did. Last night, we went Wii-crazy and I have a feeling that as soon as those girls wake up, I’ll be back to getting my ass beat in tennis.

- Some one smacked into my car on Friday night while I was parked and running my daughter into dance class. They dented it and then just drove away. Bastards. I don’t know how some people live with themselves, I swear.

- I met my new therapist on Friday. I say “new” but I haven’t been to therapy in years so that probably sounds like I ate the last one. Not the case. I like her though. So far, she doesn’t think I’m crazy. She called me quietly confident, strong and not insecure. Ha! Funny, because I found myself shaping my answers to make myself look better. I guess if there’s a place to honest, esp. since I’m paying for it, it’s there, right? So you’re saying I shouldn’t try to make her like me? Dammit.

- I need to figure out how I can make it to BlogHer again this year. The weekend before is my sister’s wedding and I’m scared that life will be too crazy to try and do back to back events. But it’s in San Francisco this time! So maybe the whole family can come and we can visit old friends and check out where we used to live. Are you going?

- My husband is on this “let’s move back to CA” kick lately. Yeah, sure, now that the kids are all settled into their lives, we found our dream house and (I) spent a year fixing it up, and I finally have some good friends in the area, and am doing something I love …yeah, that sounds brilliant. No thanks, man.

- I’m starting to show teeny-weeny blonde roots so I made an appointment to get fixed up on Tuesday. I think I’ll phase back into being a blonde but I have to go slowly so my hair doesn’t all just go poof!

I think that’s all that’s going on with me. I may add more later after I have another cup of coffee and blow my nose. What’s up with you?

You love me. You really love me.

  • I have those same shoes in maroon. I love them! I’ve been blogging at this site for three years. My previous spot, where we initially met, for a couple years prior. I’ve met some pretty super nice people this way. Better than the old way! LOL

Everybody has a Wii…maybe I should hop on the bandwagon…but then I’d never get anything done!!

  • Could it be that I’m the first commenter? Never happens. Your site is always filled with comments by the time I get there.

Hope all goes well with the therapist. We expect you to spill.

My kids totally kick my butt on the Wii. They even have pro status on most of the sports. Totally humiliating. Good luck with the new therapist, yes you have to be honest, you’re paying good money, so it’s a waste not to. ( I had a friend who used to constantly remind me of that)

  • A therapist?? But you have a mother for that.
Don’t even give California a thought as far as moving! Go visit any time you like! Ha! Just picture driving across country THIS time with your dogs.

  • Stupid ‘holiday’ party in DC last night. But the food was good and the drinks were flowing. That’s about it.

  • I’ve been blogging since May.
I’d love to go to Blogher, but I don’t think I can justify it since I make no $ off of my blog.
    Hit and runners suck.

  • Yup, I LOVE those shoes! A little bit Wizard of Oz, but hey — they were too fun to pass up!

  • I’ll be darned. Now that you mention it, my b**g is three years old TODAY!!

  • I know I haven’t been reading you long, but I’m going to BlogHer (and am freaking with excitement).

It would be very cool to meet you!

Loralee’s last blog post..Still not there!

  • Ugghh, I am a Wii junkee. I kick ass in tennis, but suck in the golf. I hope you don’t move to CA – even though we do not live close, I like knowing you are in VA!

  • Chrissy

I am with you about the Wii. Is it really as cool as everyone says it is? Lunch, sometime in 2008? I would like to catch up with you.

  • Sadly I am in pretty much the same blogging circle. I’ve been trying to figure out how to branch out lately…

AND, I really want to go to BlogHer – but no one I know is going and I would feel dumb going alone. And I’m not sure how to explain the expense of a Blogger Conference to my husband.

  • I think I’m going to BlogHer. I’ve never been. And I used to live in SF, so it gives me a chance to go back and visit.

    And I’m also delurking late!

  • Wow, I lurk on Pundit Mom’s site once in a while and I never thought she would have such sexy shoes! I only thought they had “serious” shoes in Washington (joking!).

  • What is wrong with people? Seriously?

I’ve been doing this since February 2004, which is flat out remarkable in so many ways.
