In February of 2006, Lindsay and I launched the Perfect Post Awards in order to share personally captivating posts within a supportive community of talented bloggers like you. Our mission statement has been simple all along - The Perfect Post Awards are a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too.
If you’d like to present an award next month, e-mail me and I’ll send you the latest award button code a few days before the 1st. If you’re interested in looking through our past award posts, they can be found here. Thanks to each and every one of you for making the Perfect Post Awards such a great success!!
Serving the Queens for It Matters
As a writer, mother, survivor and champion, Jenn is wise well beyond her age. With an old soul and a brave heart, she has yet to write a post that doesn’t amaze and deeply touch me. In the spirit of hope for the new year, this entry said it best.Tonight after I finished my drive, I thought about my last post, and I decided to cross over and do hers. The slush was so heavy, I couldn’t stand the thought of her trying to scrape herself out. As I was just about finished, she tapped me on the back and nearly gave me a heart attack. I hadn’t heard her approaching since I was listening to Gordon Lightfoot sing his warnings to the sun.
“Who are you and what are you doing”, she questioned as I slipped my ear pods out.
“I’m Jenn, your neighbor over there. I just wanted to dig you out. The snow is heavy and I don’t have my girls and I just figured…” My heart was pounding; I was afraid that I’d insulted her; trespassed upon her property and perhaps taken from her a chore that she enjoyed.
The story goes on but I wouldn’t dare rob you of the pleasure and the hope. Please click on over and acquaint yourself with a true Queen.
