On my way home from yoga class today, I stopped by the grocery store for a few things that we needed at home. I also wanted to pick up the ingredients to this drop 5 fast recipe by my girl Jillian. (Black team rules!)

I looked high and low but could not find the dandelion root tea bags that were required. With all of the other items and and the rest of my groceries, I left the store with an itch. I needed the damn tea bags.

I stopped at 4 different stores not very close to each other and had no luck. Meanwhile, my tummy was grumbling and telling me to pull over and pick up a fast and fat lunch somewhere greasy. Yes, stupid but I did not succumb.

An hour later and with melted popsicles in the back of my car, I realized that I was being just a little neurotic. I figured I could just go home and look online.

I called a friend to seek a swift kick in the pants.

Kimberly, you’re crazy! Get your ass home and wrap presents or bake brownies or something. Why are you out looking all over creation for tea bags? I swear…you need counseling.

That’s what I thought I’d get. Instead, my friend, whom I love now even more than I did yesterday, said something entirely different.

Did you try the heath food store in town? I’ll call them real quick and see if they carry the tea bags. Stay put and I’ll call you right back.

She did and they did and I have them.

I’m toasting her right now as I down my first installment of this wonderful elixir that promises to make me skinnier by the holiday.

To real friends!

And here’s a Real Friendly Fitness Tip:
If you insist upon wearing a million jingly-jangly bangle bracelets to yoga class, I’m either going to think you’re trying to ruin my non-judgmental hour of inner peace or I may just squeeze your head between my quads in eagle.

Funny, last year before Christmas I fasted on nuts and berries, trying to get all healthy before Christmas. Can’t say it did me all that good.

Would you think me less of a friend if i told you to go home, listen to Christmas carols, and drink tea that actually tastes good with some kind of lowfat muffin or sweet bread that actually tastes good.

I think that tea will give you the runs and that’s no fun, is it?

Or maybe I’m just jealous I can’t join you right now.
