Today my baby girl turns 8 large. I really can’t believe it myself.
Sometimes when I look at you (esp. when you’re asleep), I can still see this little angel face with the chubby cheeks.

It has been an eventful year for you. You started 2nd grade at a new school where you didn’t know a soul. You made friends fast, though. You are such a social butterfly and yet loyal to a fault like your mother. You began dancing this year as well. First it was hip hop and now you are taking a summer tap class and really loving it.
Your biggest focus this year was horseback riding. Everything, everything, everything had to do with horses. Your clothes, your books, your lunchbox…we even had 2 of them painted on your bedroom wall! Right now you are halfway through your first show season and continue to make yourself and your family proud with your progress.

At the last show, you walked away the champion in both the Lead Line Equitation and the Lead Line Pleasure class. Lots-o-ribbons!

You love to laugh, swim, ride horses or atv’s and snuggle. You still adore stuffed animals and Harry Potter but you also have started to trade Pokemon cards with boys on the school bus. Speaking of boys, you say that you are “in love” with a boy in your class. Being that I was in your class every week, I realize how harmless this is (like not speaking to each other harmless) but it’s still a lot for a mother to swallow. There is no rush, my dear. The boys will always be there.
Even though you’ll always be my baby, I have to admit that you are starting to grow up - and what a wonderful kid you are becoming. Thank you for all the hugs and the smiles. You are always so ready and willing to give both. I pray that never changes.
I hope 8 is a fantastic year for you, my love. I can’t wait to watch it unfold…slowly, please, slowly.

Happy 8th birthday, sweetie. I love you with spaghetti on top.
xoxo

A beautiful tribute to your daughter. The chair picture looks so natural. Happy eighth birthday!
That is so sweet! You must be doing something right if she’s reading and finishing books that big. Happy Birthday, big girl!
So my question, at 8 kids can read Harry Potter by themselves? My daughter is 6 (and a half) and struggles through teeny tiny book. Harry Potter is huge! I just can’t imagine such a giant jump in the next year or so. Is your daughter way smart?
Happy Birthday to your little one! She sounds like a great kiddo.
Beautiful tribute to your daughter…. my goodness…8, I can’t even imagine! My oldest will only be 3 next month!!
Happy happy birthday to that gorgeous young lady!
She is everything you say X 2! Can’t wait to have both of them this weekend as you travel to bloggers land! But it’s her 9th BD, right? :duh:
such a wonderful tribute… you are both so lucky to have each other!
Happy Birthday to your girl…she’s only 8? And loving the Potter books? When did she start reading them? My girl is six and she thinks she’s missing out on the big HP dealio that’s happening everywhere.
Look at those horse ribbons…very cool stuff.
