In February of 2006, we popped the champagne and rolled out the red carpet for you to pat one another on the backs. Here we are today still lavishing in the good feeling of such a supportive community. Our mission statement has been simple and we like it that way. The Perfect Post Awards are a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too. Les Cadeaux for Ritual de lo Habitual Molly’s blog is new to me. I’m not sure how I got there or when but I do remember feeling a connection that very first time. I feel like she gets me. She gets me and she doesn’t even know me. Now that, my darlings, takes skill.
“…we tend to fall into the bad habits, while the good ones take effort and planning to cultivate. I suppose it’s a Heaven and Hell thing; we slip down easily, down being where all the bad, bad stuff hangs out, and we work to elevate ourselves, because Up is good and light. I’m bottom heavy right now, laden with all sorts of bad habits, and this latest behavior of constantly checking on my collarbone has made me wonder how many other ridiculous things I am doing without realizing it.”
Seriously, habit wrestling? That’s what swirls around in my head on most days. Eating. Smoking. Exercise. Wine. Blogging. Gardening. Chewing on various body parts. To do or not to do. In excess or moderation. These are all a cyclical struggle in some form or another for me. And now someone got me hooked on Facebook…come on, that’s like throwing rocks at a duck.
Anyway, I chose this post because Molly made me chuckle & feel better about my habits. Not about having them but about battling them…because we all do.

I was relieved that today was perfect post day because I was having trouble coming up with any sort of coherent comment regarding your little par-tay. All I could think was “bleach! more bleach! in the bathroom!”
But here we have some wonderful new reads and I’m excited to make the rounds. I’m starting with Molly because I’m so curious about her checking on her collarbone. You and that cupcake, Lucinda have been doing a great and consistent job these many months. And we’re all lucky there are folks like Hoss who reliably read, nominate and say, “ribbit,ribbit.”
