I swear to you I am not a drama queen.
We arrived home late Saturday night on the heels of one very nasty Nor’easter. We lost power Sunday (which also means no water, no phone, no internet) right after I had restocked my house full of groceries and brushed and tacked a very muddy pony. Everyone else managed a shower before the lights got knocked out - but not me. No. I had not showered since the DR and it was becoming very apparent. Today the neighbors began calling to see if I wanted to use their shower. (They’re downwind.)
Tonight as I was just about to take my youngest to her dance class, our electricity returned. I have never stripped naked so fast in my life. I am finally clean.
And my vacation? Lovely. I let a spider monkey feel me up, rode bare back in front of hundreds at a horse show and survived mostly on wine, mango and coconut. More about those adventures later. Unfortunately I have 12 million loads of sandy laundry yet to do.

Sandy beaches, wine, and mangos sound pretty darn good. Sorry to hear about the electricity. When we moved into this house…like hours after we moved in….a water line broke. We had no water for a few days. I was the only one who hadn’t showered before it broke. Lovely.

Sounds like an excellent diet! Vacation laundry is something I never look forward to. Glad you’re back safe!

I think I might have broken my toe while bringing in firewood. Yes, firewood! After leaving sun and fun on the beach doesn’t this weather suck the big one?

Yes, we heard of your bad weather over there. Very unusual and destructive for April wouldn’t you say? Also a bit of a shock to the system after the lovely beaches of the DR. My friend just got married there a few weeks ago. It looks lovely.
