Last February, we rolled out the red carpet so you could pat one another on the backs and here we are today still lavishing in the good feeling of such a supportive community. Our mission statement has been simple and we like it that way. The Perfect Post Awards are a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too. Something To Bitch About for Music To My Ears Miss SuzyQ has convinced me that in order to score some quiet time around here, I need to get my hands on a piano. The bic lighter and imaginary audience, I already own.
I know Susan in real life. Like me, she’s a transplant from a different world light years away from the Ding Dang Woods. But in this post, she proves that she “gets” it. She also proves that she’s funnier than hell.
“Yes, the nice folks at 4-H are going to teach my eldest to use a rifle and shotgun. This should improve his social standing and allow him to attend his buddies’ birthday parties without embarrassing himself. See, the invitations to several have said things like, “Join us in bagging a buck for Billy’s birthday! Wear your camo and bring your ammo!”, but my kid can’t bag anything but groceries. I don’t want to turn him into a sharpshooter, but if he wants to attend one of these parties where “There’ll be lots of pizza and cake, but no gift bags. The kids can just keep what they kill!” it’s time for some target practice.”
