Last week the kids went to school for one day - Monday. One day, people. We were treated to some snow, ice and a heaping helping of slippery sleet spread throughout the week topped off with temps below freezing to seal us in tight. To say we had cabin fever by Friday is an understatement.
That being said, this weekend we got the heck out. We shopped at Borders, saw a movie, ate at the new Smoothie place in town and got our nails done. We had to. It was for our mental health.
My daughters always enjoy bright (God awful) colors on their nails and this time was no different. My 11 year old chose neon orange for her toes and bright red for her fingers while my 7 year old picked a blue-green and yellow duo. And she wanted shamrocks.
Shamrocks…not penises. I may be suffering from cabin fever but I still know the difference, thankyouverymuch.

I am so glad you cleared that up!!
I need to get my tootsies done!!
LOL I dearly love having my toenails painted in bright gaudy colors
It makes me feel happy!! My finger nails are a whole other story, I’d rather they be au natural, or just a coat of clear nail polish
Now then, some gloves and socks and nobody will be the wiser.
See, I can paint my toenails in the blues and whatnot. But not my fingernails. It’s too distracting. But on my feet it’s different. And I think those look like little finger puppets, not penises. But whatever you say.
Lovely…shamrocks…the other things should never be green anyway!
Did the manicurist (pedicurist?) give away free leprechaun sized condoms for her toes?
Nice nails. Don’t let her through airport security- those yellow fingernails look as though they might be a code for something dangerous.
You know. Momma K? You are a lovely mother to take your girls to have such fun. Really. That’s one more thing I like about you- you put the fun in fever.
My kids put on crazy colors, too.
Good job on keeping what sanity you have
ROFLMAO. What a fun day! I’ve been trying to get a day out with Liberty like that, but it hasn’t worked out yet. We really need to find a way to connect. She’s only 5 and it already feels like we’re constantly at odds. Anywho…I agree they colors are gawdy….but..honestly..not seeing the penis thing. I mean..at least…that’s not what the penises in IL look like. Maybe it’s different in Petroville. Is that it? Are petroville penises different? Try saying that five times fast. Okay. I know. Being immature. But saying Penis is fun :-)
Glad you clarified that, because honestly…I just wasn’t sure.
I love getting cool colors on my toes. Though I prefer them to be penis-less. Say that 5 times fast penis-less, penis-less, penis-less. Ahem.
My kids and I have cabin fever and we aren’t even snowed in. We homeschool, and for the past week, my kids habe been content loitering around in their underwear. Frightening.
I like the blue-green with shamrocks. I don’t really like the yellow, what is the picture on the yellow?? I always like my hands and feet to match….kids are so free.
Love your serene winter pictures too.
I know that you know the difference….but be careful -
cabin fever & the real thing = a November baby
P.S. I love those pictures of Lil in the snow, even if they were by accident - nicely done!
Ok, I were seven again - I’d want those nails.
Heck, I want those nails, now.
I can’t figure out what design is on her fingernails. Looks like some sort of arabic writing.
That’s a lot of penises.
She is expressing her individuality - I love that about her!
Yes, yes…As I ALWAYS SAY, “Shamrocks are much better on nails than penises…” You didn’t know that I always say that, did you?
lol, I thought they were airplanes. You know? Like how the grandkids draw them? Funny, I took my daughter Anna for a pedicure and manicure last week during our snow days as well. She has informed me that “this is something I can used to.” I guess I’m screwed now.
I would have guessed mushrooms anyway
I think they are really enjoying it. It looks like a fun paint job.
