1. We’re on snow day 3 here today. Actually, we got more ice than snow. No school again but that’s fine with me. I think I get just as excited as the kids when they have a day off. I love being snowed in. Love it. 2. My husband was excited too – right up until he flipped the ATV and landed on his head. What did I get for Valentine’s Day? A man in pain. 3. When the kids aren’t out sledding and eating handfuls of hopefully white snow, we’ve been playing scrabble by the fire, organizing closets and snuggling up to watch American Idol. Yesterday I even cleaned out my medicine cabinet. When was the last time you did that? 4. Here is a picture of what it looks like outside my window this morning. What does it look like where you are? Go ahead and take a picture. I’ll wait for you.5. My red hot washer & dryer are supposed to be delivered tomorrow but I think I may have to reschedule until next week due to the ice. Damn! 6. I have a few “Best Of” posts in the works. I’m going to need your help with pictures, stories and recipes so be ready to get interactive with me! 7. Now that I finally have more time to blog again, I feel like I have lost a lot touch with many of my readers. That’s totally understandable considering what a slacker I’ve been during the last year but I can’t help noticing. My blogroll feels out of date too. Have you ever just scrapped the whole thing and started over? 8. It’s that time of year again – BOB time. Have you nominated your favorite blog? Have you been nominated? Do tell. 9. As I type this, I’m wondering if my jazzercise class will be cancelled today. I’m supposed to be teaching half of the class. I really need the practice because in just two very short weeks, I’m going to be totally on my own. 10. My friend laughed at me when I told her I was nervous about teaching. She said, “You? Stage fright? Yeah, right.” But it’s true. It scares me to death. Last time my legs shook so bad I looked like I had a palsy. 11. I need to get over it…and fast. My cousin said that I was “made of something stronger than her” to instruct. I told her that at this point it was a personal challenge. I know I suck right now. I’ve accepted that. Now, I’m determined to get better and make up for sucking. Make sense? How do you deal with stage fright? 12. Speaking of my cousin, she started a new blog about life in Okinawa with kids. I think it’s very cool – just like her. It’s called Okimamas & Papas. How cute is that? 13. The lovely Lindsay and I are holding the February Perfect Post Awards on Thursday, March 1st. This edition marks our one year anniversary of spreading the bloggy goodness. Hope you’ll come by to celebrate with us and as always read some of the best stuff written this month. Haven’t heard of The Original Perfect Post Awards? Check us out. |

ooooh…I am insanely jealous…we have NO snow on the ground. None. A huge storm just dumped a bunch of ice and rain on us but that’s a poor substitute. We haven’t had one snow day yet this year…sigh. I love them too.
And yes, I did redo my blogroll when I switched to the blogger beta….I’m still glad I did
Beautiful picture- it’s dark outside my window- you’ll have to wait :-)
Snow days! I’m so jealous…I’m in Germany. I think we may have had a few days this year with flurries or frigid rain, but no blessed snow! I’m from Alaska – I LIKE snow! Thanks for sharing the picture, it’s great!
My T13 is up, too
Happy Thursday!
I’ve been a slacker, too, in the updating department. Sigh.
Your view is so pretty.
He flipped the ATV? Damn, girl, that sounds like it could have been a lot worse.
Man, I am what? Three hours away? And not one snowflake!!! Although it is 30 degrees today.
We got mostly ice/hail/sleet around here, too. Hubby’s trying to dig us out as we speak, now. Lucky for me I have him to dig me out, so I don’t have to brave the cold! Actually, I don’t mind the cold so much as being afraid of slipping & falling.
BTW, this is the first time I’ve done a Thursday 13! It’s a lot of fun & I’m trying to see how many people I can go visit!
Cool! It’s about as wintery as it is here. I hope your husband isn’t too achy!
Happy T13.
WOW! What I wouldn’t give for your view! BTW, prince charming and I were walking through the mall last weekend and they had an entire empty store front done up in ads for Jazzercise. PC started poking fun at it (I told him I wanted to take a class) but then I told him just how serious those girls are about their instructors and all about ya.
Just have fun with it and don’t worry about the rest. If you mess up (which I doubt) have fun with it no one will mind and they’ll be glad they at least had a good time.
Your yard looks great. Not much outside my window but plowed snow and ice. The city is pretty darn quick with removing snow. However, still another snow day.
Good luck with your jazzercise!
It looks similar out of my windows, too. Yes, I got nominated.
I live in AZ, so it looks pretty diffrent out here.

Great list! I myself have never gotten over stage fright… I hope you do though! Happy 13!
Thanks for sharing your T13, I really enjoyed it. And the photo from your window was amazing. I’d never leave home! Happy Snow Day, again!
The view from my windows is very similar to yours…. Although my driveway is an icy mess… I’m just going to point the car down and pray!
Think we’ll have school tomorrow?? It’s donut day and we have 12 dozen donuts ordered for all 138 students on the honor roll… UGh!! I don’t want to get stuck with all that sticky fatty goodness!!

Snow what is that ? lol. I know what you mean about feeling like you have lost your readers. I feel very much the same way. I just TTed about why I was away but I think my audience if I ever had one is long gone lol.
The snow is beautiful. We just moved back to Ca after a year in Colorado. I miss the snow. I love snow days. Enjoy and good luck with your teaching.
The snow is lovely. There is a poem by Sara Teasdale, or maybe Edna St. Vincent Millay, I forget which one, with a line “In velvet shoes we will walk in the snow.” That is how your picture looks.
As for stage fright, the only way to get over it is to keep doing it. It wasn’t just my knees that used to shake; my hands and voice joined in, too. Now I will get up and talk to any group, any size, and not think twice about it. It’s a little like getting to Carnegie Hall: practice, practice, practice. In a month or two you won’t believe you were ever afraid. Promise.
The snow is not as pretty here as there.
I so get the stage fright with teaching, one of my own nagging issues
I know what you mean about feeling out of touch with your readers. I’m just getting back into blogging. Trying to make some more time for it since I missed it so much.
By the way, I’m jealous of your new washer and dryer. I want one! But I want mine to be ORANGE!
Oh, yeah. I posted my 13 today!
What else can I say to that picture, but Wow! That is simply gorgeous. What I would give to have my kids experience that. I grew up in NY, so I have memories like that, but my kids are growing up in Tokyo. We’re having a warm winter and it seems it rarely snows here anymore. Thanks for the link to your cousin’s blog. I’ll have to check it out.
We had two snow days in a row. Lima Bean spent the whole day sledding today with a friend while I went in to work. I LOVE your photo. Gorgeous.
What a wonderful view from your window! Just lovely!
And I would love a quiet day playing scrabble in front of the fire.
