Welcome to the January Perfect Post Awards!

My glowing and soon-to-pop co-hostess and I would like to welcome you to the latest edition of the Perfect Post Awards – “the power to the blogger awards” because you make it all happen.

The Perfect Post Awards are a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too. If you’d like to present an award yourself next month, e-mail me and I’ll send you the latest award button code a few days before March 1st, so that you can participate as well. If you’re interested in looking through our past award posts, they can be found in my Shed.

And now without further adieu, my Perfect Post Award goes to…

A Perfect Post – January 2007

Sarcomical for Little You

Melissa always cracks me up. Seriously. Between her pups, her lists of likes & dislikes and her bird issues, I can count on cracking up when I read her posts. This one really hit home for me because while I am treading water in my early *cough* 30’s, I still feel like a 20 year old…except for the sore knees. And when I was 20, 30 sounded so freaking old. Now it just sounds delightful.

“…I have come to realize the cold, hard, punch-in-the-gut-with-lots-of-rings-on truth about being this age.

First of all, there actually did turn out to be a few benefits:

1. You really CAN eat whenever you want.
2. You really CAN stay out all night if you want to.
3. You really CAN have sex without feeling bad about it.
4. You really CAN be in a serious relationship with anyone you choose.
5. You really CAN let your room look like a tornado whipped through it.
6. You really CAN get a job wherever you like, doing whatever you like.
7. You really CAN listen to the music as loud as you want.
8. You really CAN have your own family with your own standards and ideas.
9. You really CAN feel confident, sexy and strong.
10. You really CAN make your own decisions about the direction of your life.

BUT WAIT.

There is a flip side to every coin:”

I’ll let you read that part yourself. Please be prepared to laugh your 30+ year old ass off. And Melissa, stop reading my mind …it’s kinda spooky.
