My mom kept saying that she had a surprise for me this Christmas.
I really had no idea what it was.
When I opened this treasure, I was in awe.

There was a letter was in the box as well. A letter that I still cannot read without crying.
You try.

It was signed “With love, Mom”.
Yep.
She wins.

What an awesome mother and woman!
I hope you deserve her
I visit here often and I always find something interesting to read.
AWWWW! I love it!
Jeez, Mom :sniff:
Can I have you, too?
I promise to be good. All my other friends moms just love me. I can give you referrals.
:lovestruck:
oh dear, you deserve it I’m sure! And as a mom, can’t you just totally understand what that letter meant? Awww, very sweet. My fav. gift? My hubs bought me a gc to a place where you go and compile all the food together so it’s freezer ready and you can just pop different meals in the oven whenever you need to, and also an MP3 player so I can download books and listen to them while I workout…COOL!
As a veteran crochet-er and mother, I take off my hat to your mother, who said it so perfectly. With all the love that goes into making an afghan, how could it be anything but a portable hug? She obviously did an excellent job in raising a daughter and in making your afghan.
That choked me up too. What a treasure!!
Ugh! You made me tear up!!! How sweet.
AWWWWWW…..I just printed that out for my fridge. What a great thing to get from your mom! I hope that it will help me survive mine!

My mom’s not good with handicrafts, but she put together incredible scrapbooks/photo albums for each of the four of us one Christmas. Photos spanning our lives, baby book info, birth certs, kindergarten drawings, the first school paper to get an A+, etc.
She must have been planning and saving for these books for *years*.
You are one very lucky girl!

I’m the mother and I cried when I wrote it and still choke up when reading it. Love is a wonderful thing!
I heard a song yesterday that made me think of my feelings for you:
“If I had a lariat made with ‘dreams come true’, I’d lasso the moon for you.”
Now I have two other daughters that are giving me the eye…….. :lovestruck:
Aw. I suspect your mom thought she might get you to shed a tear with that one. Well, she got me, too.
Damn it. You made me cry. I tried so hard to finish a blanket for my daughter but ran out of time for Christmas.
So sweet! Your Mom rocks…
And are your sisters tapping their fingers waiting for theirs now??
That is beautiful. What a special gift.
How wonderful. I think homeade blankets and throws are among the nicest presents you can give. Both our girls have them from my grandma and are their most favorite thing they own.
Rachel wants to learn how to knit. One of these days I’ll have to invest in two pairs of needles and remember how.
That note was so sweet.
That is really neat. You can tell your mother really loves you too. Enjoy the gift!
Beautiful. *sniff* Way to go Mom!
It’s gorgeous!!
What a beautiful gift!
You really have a special mother. What an absolute treasure of a present. The words are so wonderful.
Wow! I don’t have a Mom anymore. Can I have yours?
What a beautiful Treasure from your Mom. I love the color and the work she did for you. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Yep, I’m crying. That is awesome!
What a beautiful gift to receive from your mom.
Oh my gosh. That made me cry. (Sorry, I’m catching up). I wish I could get ONE present like that from my mom. Instead, we received everything she had gotten from her friends and didn’t want. And it was painfully obvious, because why would she have bought us, for example, a five pound can of peanuts? Or an alarm clock shaped like an egg? It was embarrassing pretending to be excited about that stuff.
Can you tell this has been a sore spot? :giggle:
