Welcome to the December Perfect Post Awards!

My glowing and ever-growing co-hostess and I would like to welcome you to the 11th edition of the Perfect Post Awards – “the power to the blogger awards” because you make it all happen.

The Perfect Post Awards are a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too. If you’d like to present an award yourself next month, e-mail me and I’ll send you the latest award button code a few days before February 1st, so that you can participate as well. If you’re interested in looking through our past award posts, they can be found in my Shed.

And now without further adieu, my Perfect Post Award goes to…

A Perfect Post - December

If you have ever embarked on a home improvement project with your significant other (or subsequent ex), you owe it to yourself to read this post. You can come back and thank me after you’ve composed yourself and fallen totally in love with Antique Mommy – because you will.

“Before we were even married, we embarked upon a home improvement project together and in the process, we discovered everything we needed to know about surviving and sustaining a marriage partnership:
Never do home improvement projects together.”

This post really ought to be in a marriage “How To” book somewhere.
Maybe we should call Dr. Phil…

  • Hi – I think there’s been some confusion around here. I got an e-mail from “Hoss” saying that he nominated me for “A Perfect Post” for December, but when I checked the website, I found it was for another blog. My name is Sudie, and he sent the e-mail to me addressed (in the salutation) as “Susie”. I posted the “Perfect Post” button on my blog (sidebar and entry itself), but I’m not sure what to do from here. Should I keep it or remove it?

    Please let me know…thanks!
    Sudiegirl

  • thank you, thank you, thank you. lovely choices, all.

  • Hoss is a failure. Everybody knows that. But the award went to the right place. Now I gotta figure out how to put the smooches on Sudie.

  • [...] Chilihead — my highly intelligent friend, who has outstanding judgment (not to mention laugh-outloud sense of humor) — has nominated me for December’s Perfect Post Award. She chose the post, Wish it Could Have Been More, to be featured on Suburban Turmoil and Petroville, along with other nominated perfect posts. I’m in outstanding company over there!! I am so honored! [...]

  • :thanku: Hoss!

I’m just sorry that I stomped on Susie’s glory…maybe Hoss will start reading me again more regularly and find something he thinks worthy.

Sigh…meanwhile I’ll just slowly recover from my embarassment. :shame:

  • I sent my pick last night. Maybe the e-mail didn’t go through?

  • Just coming over to say I am most honored, and thank you very kindly, Momma K and Lucinda for hosting such a fine project. Now that I know of it, I shall be on the lookout for opportunities to pass it along.
And Sudiegirl, my glory and I do not feel one bit stomped on; miscommunications are a staple of email, for sure. And now YOU are the lucky one, with Hoss out to put the smooches on you!

  • What do I have to do to be a presenter for January?

  • I would also like to be a presenter for January, and my designee is Groovygrrl.

Here is the post I’d like to present…

    http://groovygrrl.blogspot.com/2007/01/ambrosia-nectar-of-my-god.html

(it’s really quite good…she’s a fellow Iowegian, mother of one beautiful girl and a special ed. teacher for the Denver Colorado school district)

Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks!

    :yahoo:

  • [...] I have never been nominated for any blog awards (like these or these or this) and only my friends link to me. Normally I wouldn’t care AT ALL but today that feels like FAILURE. I’ve been keeping this blog for five years! (Four and a half as a proper blog and at least six months before that, perhaps longer, in other forms.) TIME FOR RECOGNITION. I guess no one likes me anymore now that I am just a boring old mom. [...]

  • I would like to present the Perfect Post Award to Swampwitch. Her post

    http://anecdotes.typepad.com/anecdotes_antidotes_and_a/2007/01/goodbye_friend.html

talks about having to say goodbye to her sweet baby boy Junior, her Boxer. This moment in time brought tears to my eyes, and every single person who read it, and it is a tribute to love that can never be forgotten. Anyone who has been owned by a pet will understand the pain and beauty that Swampwitch shared with Junior, and with us. I really hope you will read this entry, thanks!

  • I’d like to nominate Kevin Charnas for the January perfect post for this amazing post about his parents.
