Don’t be jealous of my clever title. I can come up with one for you, too. Just ask…
The PMS cloud has lifted and the valley of Petroville is rejoiced. Yesterday the girls and I drove to my friend’s house and made Christmas cookies with her kids all day. It was a gloomy, cold and rainy day perfect for baking and overeating. We were champions of both.
We made chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies decorated with sprinkles and extra flour that the children were wearing from head to toe. We also made chocolate covered pretzel rods and pizzelles. I was inspired to make the pretzels by my dear friend, Angie, who brought those as well as a myriad of other homemade treats to my party last weekend.

If you look closely, you will see the bottle of Tickle…I mean Winter Tipple that Angie made herself.
I’m saving that for Christmas Eve!
The pretzels are delicious and so easy and fun for the kids. If you don’t know Angie, you should go over and say hello. She has a million last minute yummy ideas for the holidays that will knock your socks off.
After much pizzelle pressing, the iron turned on me and gave me a nice boo boo. I should not be allowed to use such things. Hell, I really shouldn’t be allowed in the kitchen. Period.

And don’t act like you can’t see that boo boo either…
Tonight my sister arrives from Tennessee and we are going to an Open House hosted by my sweet friend, Ladybug. Yes, I am quite lucky that I have such dear blog friends that live so close and that actually like me in real life. I am not as nice as I seem…just ask the valley of Petroville.
Tomorrow is the final Christmas prep and also packing for Amsterdam. Nothing like leaving the country with your house a mess!
What are you all up to? Traveling or staying put?
Any kitchen injuries to share?

Staying home and cooking. We expect the family to invade some time around 2pm on Monday for dinner. I’ve got all my shopping done! Just a bit to wrap and some (ok, a lot) of cleaning to do.
No kitchen boo boos yet, but I’ve only made cookies so far.
Merry Christmas MommaK.
:o Owwwwie!! That brings back mem’ries—-my first job (a million years ago) was at Cinnabon. Everyone was getting burns like that. The worst burn ever was when one of the girls somehow got molten cinnamon sugar across her arm. After it fully healed, it left a terrible, raised scar.
Hey did I tell you about the giant penis statue in Amsterdam? Josh was there a few years ago, and of course he took a picture of it. And showed it to his grandmother.
was in florida last week. home this week. no kitchen activity and therefore no kitchen boo boos. hope your boo boo is feeling better and that you have a beautiful christmas!
Mary has already been into the Tickle! I’m in an absolute termite colony of relatives over here but we’re all holding up, eating too much and playing fun table games. Ouch on the burn- those hurt! More Tickle!
I came by to wish you the very best Christmas ever. I hope it’s cheery and bright and calm and peaceful and that when it’s not the Tickle holds out. You are a wonderful neighbor, full of spunk and kindness and smart good humor- I thank you. Best wishes in the new year, for peace and health and happiness and an upswing in the housing market. xoxoxo, V
We call get our Christmas scars.
Have a wonderful Christmas Day!
I wish I were closer- I’d bring you some gift-wrapped burn ointment!
Hope you and your sweet family have a very merry Christmas!
Don’t you just love pre-Christmas-cookie-baking-day?
No kitchen injuries over here… Of course, I’m not allowed into the kitchen… I have kitchen issues…
And really, Momma K, you are a very likeable soul!! I think you are terrific and I’m honored and absolutely thrilled to call you my dear friend. Can’t wait to see what’s under the tree tomorrow… I’m sure Santa will be good to you!!
Enjoy your trip. Email if you need anything.

YUM…my mom & my sister made some of the pretzel rod thingies today, and I burnt my mouth when I snitched one.
Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!!

Eventually the tipple does tickle ;-) Have a grand time in Holland. It is the one place outside of the US I would love to live.
Everything looks DELISH! Hope your Christmas was merry!
And I just got back from Amsterdam! I wasn’t blogging at the time so I never posted about it, but we had an amazing time. Its beautiful there - have fun!!!
I love Amsterdam. Hope you are having fun.
What was your big Unga Chunga surprise?
Merry Christmas! And I definitely think that injury qualifies you for the 15 day kitchen duties disabled list.
Ouch on the finger. But now I’m hungry, looking at all those cookies!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Hope you had a great trip!! The cookies look like they were worth it. I’m constantly burning myself in the kitchen. The ice cube is my friend! Happy New Year!
i’m surprised that i DON’T have any injuries from the holidays…but then again i tried to avoid cooking as much as possible. that might be it. but i did run into a few counters and doorways, does that count?
Those cookies look delicious! I never did manage to bake anything this year. All the better for the size of my bum!
