As I’ve stated sadly many times before, we have yet to find a buyer for our house in The Ding Dang Woods.

So I go and look in on it once or twice a week. You know, flush the toilets, water the plants, pull the weeds and clean the cardinal crap off of my front porch. Yes, we have a mean cardinal that stalks the house and has for years. He’s still mad at me for getting rid of his nest a while back so he incessantly taps on my front windows with his nasty beak leaving all sorts of a mess and then poops all over the walkway. NOT a good first impression of my home, I know. My real estate agent wants to shoot it or poison it. I told her to do what she has to do - just don’t tell me about it.
On my way to do my weekly house check a couple of weeks ago, I had to slow down for a family of bear who were crossing the road. It was amazing, actually. I’ve only seen evidence of the bears in the area - not a real living, breathing momma bear and her 3 cubs walking 8 feet in front of my car (lock the freaking doors!).

Holy Snakes, Batman!!
I guess with all of these dang critters, it’s no surprise we haven’t gotten an sweet offer on the house yet. Reptiles are not exactly on the curb appeal list.
Speaking of animals, I have a lesson on a horse in an hour. I’ll fill you in on that and yesterday’s horrific equestrian apparel incident tomorrow - unless I fall off my steed and require medical attention. In that unfortunate case, send flowers not chocolate. My fat ass is getting me into trouble these days.

no.
no.
you did not just show me a snake.
 Yikes!

Wow, how far out in the woods were you living?!
Good luck on your horse!
I hates snakes.
LOL! Birds,Bears and snakes. Yup, that’d have me running from the woods!
i can’t do snakes, bears would be ok, but there is something about snakes.
good luck with selling your home, i had no idea it hadn’t sold as yet.
Snakes and bears! That is just awesome. I would be in heaven. And don’t you dare let that real estate agent murder the fiesty little cardinal! I’ll kick her ass!
LOL!!! That’s funny! Only in the Ding Dang Woods can we have this happen…

That fat ass comment made me spew green tea all over the place. And, I love snakes out in the wild. Especially the nonpoisonous ones. I can’t help it, I’m a nature girl…and I’m sure your agent told you that the market is slowing down, so it might take a while for properties that are outside of town.
I don’t think it’s the critters. Snakes are good for the rat population.
By the way, there are plenty other ways to get rid of that cardinal. Try loud wind chimes on the porch and a bird feeder on the outskirts of the property.
Do NOT tell me that house was within commuting distance of LIttle Creek Amphib Base. Snakes or not, that’s a gorgeous house. Too bad we just bought in Chesapeake. Not quite the DDWoods, though.
That is such a cool picture. Nothing wrong with a little snake here and there.
OMG! A snake . . . on your house . . . nope that would definitely not send me running to put a bid on your house, even as nice as it is, I HATE SNAKES!!!
Snakes, bears, bugs. The house is gorgeous though! I love the stone!
Oh my, the only place I have ever seen a bear is at the zoo. That is pretty cool, but I do prefer it that way actually. I’m not one for the critters. Hope they all hide when prospective buyers come over! Good luck!
That house looks wonderful….! Hope you are able to sell it soon, my dear.
The bears bother me more than the snakes.
Sounds like one stirred up cardinal.
I would have been scared of the bears - thank goodness you were in your vehicle.
Hopefully someone who loves critters and the great out of doors will make a good offer.
Sending my best from the big city,
Frances
I say rent it out to the snakes or the bears.
It realky is a regal looking house, snakes and all.
Okay, snakes scare the snot out of me! So do spiders, rats, and anything else that crawls and hides in small, tight spaces! As far as bears go, we had a momma and her cub in our FRONT YARD a couple months ago! I was terrified, especially with my little girls loving to play outside so much, it was in the middle of the day! They just pranced right through my friggin yard!
You had bears!? Holy crap, I think that would be enough to make me move.
Bears! Bears! That is awesome! Scary! But awesome!
is a snake considered a varmint? dang, probably not. the owners’ manual for my new rifle says it’s good for varmints. I’m thinking the snake would need to ball itself up in a big target shape. no, probably not.
Snakes??? Can you really expect your house to sell when it’s covered with snakes????
I still can’t believe it didn’t sell. Perhaps that ghost of your new house would like to buy it? :winking:
