We are in the middle of monsoon season out here in Virginia. We got 2 months worth of rain in the last 36 hours - and it’s still coming. We lost electricity, a tree and found a leak in the roof. Fun stuff…

Well I’ll tell ya, around here in Southern California it’s been muggy. Very uncharacteristic like. I feel like I’m back home in Wisconsin where even when it’s overcast, it’s warm and the air is thick. Most people aren’t used to it because they lived here a long time and we are supposed to have that “dry heat” thing goin’ on, but I don’t mind it much, as long as it doesn’t continue too long.
Will you hunt me down and shoot me if I say my weather is great?
Cuz if that’s the case, then it sucks here. Otherwise, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful weekend!
Yikes. I’ve been hearing about it on the news. It’s kind of plain Jane here — threatening rain, but only a few drops here & there. Temp is 70ish. Have you built your ark yet?
Monsoon crossed my mind also as I dripped through the door this afternoon.
Not our typical So MD weather. Happy Husband though - can’t cut the grass :yahoo:
Its crappy for California. They call our weather “monsoon” weather now thta you mention it
Hope the sun peaks out for ya!
It is gorgeous here. So sorry that it is raining on you guys! Hopefully is will get out of there by the 4th!
Well, let’s put it this way. Up until this week, we’ve been in one level of drought conditions or another. Now? We’re all caught up. And then some.
I do love the rain.
But does it have to come all at once? I mean, wouldn’t it make more sense to … spread it out a little?
It is very humid here in AZ. We are approaching monsoon season during the next two weeks. I know how you feel. Good luck!
i almost envy your weather. it’s scorching hot here in HK… enough to fry an egg on my head!
Momma, it is very dry here — 100 degrees. Very unseemly for our part of the country. Fortunately, we have low humidity, and tomorrow it will be only 84. NO RAIN. See, we don’t get it all.
Dry. Parched. Arid. Any forecast for rain is touch and go. The weathermen are liars. And at the rate we’re going, we’re in for a very dark July 4th. Fire hazard is too great.
It is hot and humid. I couldn’t ask for nicer weather.
We had that last week… Very,Very bad flooding. Now it is just HOT!!!
Hot. Dry. No rain in sight until October.
Sigh.
Hope all is well there.
Our basement flooded on Sunday night, and J. had to go outside in the thunderstorm to dig trenches in strategic places around the house. 2 more inches today, I just heard. And to think that last week I was worried about how dry the garden was!
Cloudy, rainy, depressing.
we are going away this week and it is supposed to RAIN!
I thought it was supposed to be SUMMER!
Sorry your new house has a leaky roof, that just sucks!
It’s the same in this part of Virginia (chesapeake). Thunderstorms all day long! No fun! I Hope to see some sunshine soon….and wishing the same for you!
Here in Fort Worth, Texas it is 9:24 in the morning and only 73 degrees? Very, very odd for summer in this area. Lately it’s been sunny and hot. Fire bans are everywhere and that bodes ill for July 4th. However, I predict a hellish heat descending any time now.
Hot. Flarging hot. We hit 102 yesterday, which I believe was a record for the month of June.
