Yesterday the girly-girls and I were driving along when I overheard this conversation,
“Who’s your boyfriend?”
“Well…I have two”, my 6 year old said. (ahhhhhh!)
“Will Smith and Harry Potter”, she continued.
Oh. Okay.
I had forgotten about those days where you actually considered superstars and fictional movie characters as your “boyfriend”. I guess I understand that. I don’t remember having them at 6 - but she has an older sister and I didn’t ( I had a nun for mother ).
That evening I went to tuck her in and this is what I found…
…on the ceiling above her bed.
After I kissed her good night, she threw her arms up toward the ceiling and said,
“You’d better give me good dreams tonight, Harry!”
She claims that having his picture on her ceiling wards off all bad dreams. How clever of him.
As I shamefully confessed last year, my “boyfriend” was Tom Cruise. Yes, yes, I would spit on him now but me at 13 and him as Maverick painted a very different picture in my raging hormonal dreams.

Mine was Davy Jones (from the Monkees) and Chris Jones…..who no one has ever heard of before, but I REMEMBER. He was last seen in the movie “Ryan’s Daughter.”
I also have liked Alec Baldwin and Mel Gibson…but they both have lost their minds and are just as weird as Tom Cruise now….this is what I have heard via the tabloids.

Matt Dillon. I had Tiger Beat and Teen Beat posters of him on EVERY wall of my room. The Outsiders was my favorite movie, what can I say, I was a girl of the 80’s. I still secretly love my Matt, even though he is quite the player — doesn’t matter since I am married and taken — SORRY MATT!
Of course, I did have my fourth baby on his birthday. Well, not on purpose, but I tell my husband it was on purpose!
