If you would have told me a year ago – or even a few months ago – that I’d hardly be blogging, I would have told you to “shut your mouth!“. I really didn’t think anything short of a tragedy (knock on wood) would be able to pull me away from my blogging habits. Well, here I am. Or more correctly, here I’m not.
All of my energy and creativity is going into the houses – fixing one up to live in and trying to sell the other. I won’t bore you with the tedious details but I can say that these details are all that are bouncing around in my brain lately. I have energy for little else.
I can’t say when I’ll resume my normal posting schedule because I have no idea how long this process will drag on. I can tell you that things are going well and I am a very tired but very happy girl.
Speaking of energy, I’d like to buy some. Please let me know if you have the inside scoop on how to make such a purchase – and no, I’m not opposed to buying it off of the black market.
I’m leaving you today with a poem written by my 10 year old daughter. She seems to possess what I am lacking in both the creativity and the energy departments. Yes, I am very proud of her.
Energy I feel it rushing through my veins,
Like a car in the fast lane.
It’s the fire within me.
It makes me feel wild,
It makes me feel free.It feels like I have the world at my fingertips.
I have the world’s words at my lips.
Can’t you feel it?
Can’t you see-
The energy inside of me?
Today is the birthday of one of my very bestest blogfriends and my real life gal pal as well. Please, if you have the time and energy, take a moment to go over and wish Aka_Monty a Happy Birthday. If you don’t already know her, you’ll be glad to make her acquaintance for she is truly one of the coolest chics around. Say you’ll go – pretty please with spaghetti on top?

What a terrific poem! I wish I had that talent. So talented! Glad to hear you are happy. I am sure all the hard work is worth it.
Thanks so very much!
:lovestruck:
Your daughter is so very talented, like her mom.
She writes better than I do. She’s gonna be a STAAAAAH!
Enjoy your break and may you have all the energy you need.
Dear MommaK’s Girly-Girl: I love your poem. I just read it 4 times in a row. You are a very talented person, and I hope that you keep on writing.
Hey, it is Theresa (This Mom Blogs) birthday too! Birthday wishes all the way around!
I haven’t been blogging as much the past few weeks either, and I am not selling a house or anything. Maybe it is blog burnout…or we’re ramping up for summer!
whoa momma! that girl just hit puberty eh? How’s the new house shaping up? If I could figure out posting pics you’d see mine! i hope you’ll post details soon!
Good lord, are we slack losers. or what?
I am going to say Happy Birthday now!!!
What a great poem! She truly has a way with words.
The good news is, you’re so cool that we’ll all just sit here and wait for your return!
two houses are a huge committment on top of a young family. just think of everything you’ll be able to share with us, once you’re back down to one home. keeping fingers crossed for a quick sale and return of mommak
She could be a song lyricist. Put some music to that and give it to Kelly Clarkson or something.
VERY nice.
We’ll be here. Relax and take care of life.
i know what you mean. about the same time last year, i was just getting into the joys of blogging. now, i’m surprised that it became last priority…*sigh* let’s hope we get the bloggin’ bug once again!
What a good poem! I can’t imagine having two houses to take care of! We’ll be waiting, right here, for all the good stuff you’re going to have going on!
I don’t like poetry — but I liked that one.
Take your time, Momma. We’ll be here when you get back.
Great Poem and you already have the energy……look what you have accomplished already! XOOX
Thats a great poem. Keep her in pens & paper, she may just dedicate her first book to you.
As you can see by my les and less frequent visits… I’m right there with ya! Enjoy the downtime from your blogging habits, they will be back in full force all too soon, I’m sure. And we’ll look forward to your return!
Peace.
If you’ll read her poem carefully, you’ll find out where all your energy went. Your daughter sucked it right up. Perhaps you thought that ended once you gave birth. Ha!
I hope turning 10 makes my daughter into something that creative! Right now there’s no way you could talk her into writing a poem even if you threatened to take away LOST for a year! Someone please tell me that I’ll have at least ONE creative child!!
