Spring Fever? I caught it and my very talented friend Leanne had the cure. She did me up nice with a new design and an upgrade to WP 2.0. Did you notice the flip-flops on either side of the welcome mat and at the bottom of the post? Those are my actual shoes – from my closet- that she magically incorporated into my design. Brilliant! Does that girl know me or what?
Perfect Post Fever? It’s happening tomorrow – right here and right here. Tune in to peruse your picks for the best reads of the month.
Last night I caught something else too…banana flyin’ fever.
My girly-girls and I went to Ruby Tuesday’s to grab dinner after running a million errands and me running out of parental steam. ( I just couldn’t deal with cooking…you know? ) We sat down, ordered our meals and did a bit of homework at the table. The food came and we chit-chatted about our day.My youngest said, “I traded my apple sauce for Julie’s banana at lunch today”.
“Why don’t you ever eat bananas when I put them in your lunch?” I asked.
“I don’t know. Julie’s are better.”
“Hmmpt”
Not a minute later she got this weird look on her face and started making a faint coughing sound.
“What’s wrong?”
“It feels like I have food right here”, she said as she held her chest.
“Take a drink”, I said. “Maybe you didn’t chew all of your food up all the way.” (ohmygodshesgonnachoke!!!)
Okay – she wasn’t choking but something was wrong.
“Take a big drink” I said again.
She did … and then she turned green.
“I’m going to throw up, Mom!!!”, she screamed just as a lovely table of four was being seating across from us.
“Hang on!”, I yelled.
I threw myself over to her side of the table just as her cheeks filled with puke. The poor girl was trying so hard not to let go that when she did it was like a geyser erupting all over the booth.
I had the plate up to her mouth trying to catch what I could. I yelled to my other daughter to get napkins – “a million of them” is what I think I said. It was no use. I caught it, the table caught it, the floor caught it and were both covered in it – banana flyin’ fever.
I’ll spare you the clean up details as I’m trying to forget them myself. The good news is that the little one is fine now. I thought it was a stomach bug but she seems peachy after expelling the bananas from her system.
Nothing like a public display of vomiting to make you feel like mother of the year.

Ewww…my daughter puked in a booth at IHOP once. I remember her telling me that she was going to puke. I said “Don’t you dare until you get to the bathroom”. Then she puked. It was gross. But then she felt fine. She does this occassionally for no reason. I don’t know why. Sensitive tummy I guess.
PS. LOVE THE NEW DESIGN! Duh. I can’t believe I forgot to say something about it. I decided I need a new template too. Gonna obsess about it. Of course it won’t be as beautiful as yours!
OMG!!!
Sorry, but it’s funny!! Hope she’s feeling better now.
LBC
OMG! I’m laughing, but I SO feel your pain!
Hey, I love this layout! Great job, Leanne!
Oooh, puking at Applebee’s. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
Glad she’s feeling okay now.
The baby did that last week. He gets the pukes about once every 6 weeks.
The one day, the ONE DAY, I did not spread a blanket out on the floor yet, kerploosh! Oatmeal and berries everywhere! Luckily, I have a carpet shampooer.
Ewww…sorry about the public display of puking! Glad your daughter is feeling better. Love your new look!!!
I love the new look. It isn’t showing up perfectly in Safari however. Yesterday’s post is i the sidebar. Lucinda’s blog does the same thing to me. It works on Safari on my laptop but not on my desktop. Try to figure that out!! Crazy.
It doesn’t matter though because I can see the most recent post just fine.
You look mah-ve-lous, dahlink. LOVE the new look! And now you’ve given me spring fever.
Of the non-puking variety, I hope.
:winking:
Oh I love the new look! I’ve been coming by every day waiting for the new unveiling.
My GirlChild threw up at a restaurant once. And she was so embaressed. I kept telling her, “no one noticed” when I knew it was a bold faced lie but I had vomit on me so I went with it.
Yep I bet you were sooo proud! Glad it wasn’t anything major!
It took me a few to figure out your new digs here, but got it now!
I guess your daughter won’t be switching snacks in her lunch anymore, eh? Sounds like you handled it as best you could. Could’ve been worse–she could have projectiled it right on to the back of someone’s head in the booth next to you!
That Leanne is one talented chick–good work, girl!
:yahoo: I can’t wait to read all of the Perfect Posts!
Oh dear!
And they don’t hand out barf bags at Ruby T’s, huh? Oh man.
I plugged you on my TT, my fairyblogmother. I absolutely love the look. Leanne just drops my jaw with each new design. Isn’t she just fabulous?
Girl I love the new design! Absolutely love it!
Sorry to hear about your emergency clean up last night. Now that I’m teaching again those kinds of events happen more often than I would like. At least she is your kid!
Love ya and miss ya!
I LOVE your new look! :yahoo:
Oh MommaK……You just made me laugh.
I remember one night while I was sleeping, my daughter came into my room and informed me, she was going to throw up…..she then, right then and there, threw up on ME!!!
hehe~ That’s a story for the lunch lady for sure… Thanks for the smiles.
i have no idea how she does that techincal stuff but it looks great! you’re ready for flip flop season.
Love the new design. Makes me feel like freshenin’ up the place,
The Hubs does that, pukes in restuarants. He also hates to eat out. I wonder which is the cause and which is the effect?
:lovestruck:Love your design! In fact, I think it’s my most-liked design of all time. Super cute and easy to navigate. So original.
Poor girlie-girlie!- poor Mommak!- poor wait person!
I’m glad she ok though! Take care-Jak
Oooh, sorry about that! I’ll never look at Ruby Tuesday in the same way again….LOL
Oh, your poor baby. I hope she is better and it is not a return of that awful virus going around.
Beautiful new design.
And the poor baby! I’d keep her off bananas–and out of Ruby Tuesday’s–for awhile.
This has to be one of the most beautiful blog designs I’ve seen.
Ok, I thought I had left a comment the other day, but clearly I got distracted. I absolutely love the new design. It is sooooo cute! And the barf story is a classic. Poor girly-girl. I hope she wasn’t too traumatized.
I think this is the CUTEST site I’ve ever seen! Seriously!!!!
Your designer gets major props from me.
