Pass the CatchUp, Please

I’m such a bad blogger. Shame on me…

Let’s play a little catch-up, shall we?

* I’ve been one sick chic. (do you hear that violin?) This winter’s germ count has been rough on me. My guess is I’m picking up more than my usual quota of buggers during my weekly Lunch-Mom-Duty. Oh, yes. I’m an expert at opening those little milk cartons but who knew it was hazardous to your health?

* I’ve been working my bee-hind off to get the final project completed for my CSS class. So I have been on my computer – just not with you guys… *sniff, sniff* I told myself that I wasn’t allowed to post on my blog until my project was done. It’s almost finished so don’t tell me on me, okay?

* Our house goes on the market in one week – March 1st. My blood pressure thinks that this is not a topic that should be discussed.

* I’ve been on a diet this week and I’m pleased to report that it’s going well. I’m doing the Six Day Mini-Makeover with my pal Leanne. Together we are too competitive to cheat or quit and it sure is nice to have someone to whine to when you’re tummy is grumbling. I’ll let you know if I’ve lost any weight on Saturday…and then on Sunday I’ll let you know if I’ve gained it back.

* My older daughter has been taking a Shakespeare class on Saturdays for the past 5 weeks. This weekend is Parent’s Day and they are performing a scene from “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream”. Wouldn’t you know she landed the same part I played when I was in school? We ran lines together tonight and I became entirely too exuberant for her tastes. “Lord, what fools these mortals be!” Oh, it was a blast…

* The reason behind my sudden urge to be fit, besides what lurks in this chair behind me, is Spring Break. This year we are going to beach resort in Puerto Rico. Ahhhh…the sun and the beautiful, clear water…and my big, fat ass. Wait – rewind that. I’m working on losing the ass. All I needed was motivation and now I have it. Junk food be damned! I have a bikini to try and not look revolting in!

* Since we’re travelling to a Spanish speaking area, we thought we should brush up on our Espanol. My husband got these CDs and the girls and I have been listening to them every day on our way to school and the million other places the Mom Taxi goes to a day. So far we’ve mastered a conversation about cauliflower and how to ask for directions to the bathroom. I think we’re all set.

* Being sick always gives me chapped lips. Recently I found this and love, love, love it. And yes, it goes well with the Chanel.

* Speaking of make up, thank you all for your wonderful advice on the subject. Because of you, I felt like an expert and spent like one too. (yes, I will blame you if I have to) Still haven’t told the hubby about that one. Shhhhh….

* My mother is celebrating her birthday on Friday. One year ago Friday I started this blog for her and one year later she barely uses it. When she does post, she scares the crap out of me with hostage-like pictures of the men she’s dating. Lord help her. No, really…I’m serious.

There. I think we’re all caught up.

What about you? Fill me in, pretty please.
What tidbits have I missed in your world while
my face has been stuck in the tissue box?

You love me. You really love me.

  • HEINZ? Of all the ketchup in the world you chose HEINZ??????

    :duh:

You missed my ask-answer thing. I’m fielding questions, and I’m on my second day of replies. Go see, inbetween puking and coding.

  • Hmmm … I had a baby … I am always in some stage of breastfeeding (or so it seems) … I was one size smaller 2 days after his birth than I was when I first got pregnant (I bought the jeans sunday to prove it) … Don’t hate me because I think I have to take up yoga or something and an eating program to get myself any smaller.

  • I’m sorry you’ve been sick. You haven’t missed much at my place – unless you like 1st and 4th grade photos and essays on the weirdness to be found in your local Waffle House….LOL

  • nothing much going on on this side of the world. my daughter and i got sick as well… but she got awards for academic excellence and conduct… so, there’s that.

  • let’s see, i took my dog for her first pedicure. yeah, that pretty much sums up my excitement for the week.

  • I got a ghetto makeover at Just Cuts because we are the nouveau poor now and I can’t afford a real haircut.

  • Well, we are glad to be updated.

Loved the Shakespeare deal; what a cool coincidence!

Let’s see, update on me….I have fired my cleaning lady. And as irrelevant as that sounds, I am sure I am going to blog about it.

  • The last one about your mom made me laugh out loud, beause she’s been scaring me, too.

I’m on day two of the Sonoma Diet. I’ll let you know in 8 days if it is working.

  • Hope you start to feel well soon and put down those milk cartons will ya- your vacation plans sound wonderful and I’m sure after saturday- you will look like a knock out in the little bikini!!! good luck on your project.

Me- I’m just hanging out at the “beach” phase 1 still and trying to get my big ass into a tiny bikini too-

I have a gut feeling you’ll beat me to it! (get it-GUT feeling-hehe) But I’m staying with it! Take care mommak-and look that angie- all skinny after having a baby-shhh! :camouflage:

  • ughh, sounds like my week… hope you’re all better!!

  • Well, I had a bday party, which you were able to visit shortly (thanks so much!), then I celebrated my 1st year Blogversary. Oh and yesterday I posted my whining on being pregnant again and how I have been feeling so far now that I’m on my 8th week. Pretty much just those… :-) I’m hoping you’re feeling much better now!

  • OK, now I have to visit your Mom’s blog to see scary pictures…

Hope you’re feeling better soon! Good luck with the project & the house!!

You can ask where the bathroom is — you’re set!

Before visiting Germany several years ago, I took a crash course in German. One of the things I learned was “Do you have change?” And I’ll be damned if I didn’t have to use it!! In a coin-op bathroom, no less… yes, I had to pay to pee!! Thank God I knew how to ask for change. It wouldn’t have been pretty (or polite) otherwise.

What’s new? Oh, just wiping up after messy little boy sneezes, and now cleaning my house for company…

(sorry for the novel here!)

  • :sorry: sorry to hear you have been sick

:yahoo: Yeah on your diet, glad its going well.

  • OH, I’m so with you on the Neosporin lip balm. I don’t go anywhere without mine.

  • I am just glad Feb is almost over and I can get out my Feb. Funk!

    Feel better!

    V A C A T I O N???? Sounds wonderful.

  • D

nice to ‘catchup’ wit’ ya! Glad your feeling better… good luck with your house on the market! Oh heavens, good luck!!!!

  • I have nothing to share at all. The kids have been home all week and driving me :zombie: but other than that…I wondered how you were doing though! :

  • Ah yes! Shakespeare! I was in my first Shakespeare play when I was in 3rd grade. The Comedy of Errors I was Luciana. What fun!

Right now I’m just proud of bein’ a Texan and having a hillbilly side of my family.

  • I admire your discipline on the diet-y thing and the computer project. As for me, I had a birthday and became a finalist for that blog award. Go me! Feel better soon, ok?

  • Huh? What’d I miss? Why are you selling your house?

  • Thanks for stopping by!

I order my coffee from this place.

    Fair prices and great coffee!

  • Phew! That’s some catch-up. The house thing- well, I imagine we will hear more. The 6 day make over- I clicked over there. Can one woman eat that much poultry and survive? I just road 8 miles on my bike and I’m watching what I eat while here in Florida- same motivation, except I’m just going to a blog convention in LV with Hoss. :-)
I’m counting on you, Momma, to at least do the Survivor thing since I am without TV…

  • All you need to know in Spanish is “tequila” and “cerveza”.

And let me know if Unga ever posts again. I have been going there daily and the Monster is there, daily.

  • Well I too have had an absence from the blogging world and I think I recently did a post of the Ketchup persuasion myself. I haven’t been sick though, I started student teaching in a 5th grade class. Lucky me. At least your sickness will be over…my stint lasts 9 whole weeks. Wishing you well, thanks for the update!

  • We have been sick here too. My lips get chapped too, I can’t live without my Lip Medex (the blue round container – I live on that stuff.

  • That cafeteria is a germ factory!!
    Hope you are feeling better…

    Jazz tomorrow?
    LadyBug
PS.. your butt is not fat at all…. I stand behind you in Jazz and I wish my big fat butt were as fat as your not fat at all butt… :-)

  • I’m starting the 6-day tomorrow. After my less than stellar weigh in today, I need a big kick in my big butt!

Puerto Rico will be fabulous. I have travel-envy!

We went to Cancun for our honeymoon and to a resort in Xcaret, Mexico last year with the kids. I agree with Old Horstail…as long as you can say “mas cervezas” or “mas tequila” you will have a grand ol’ time there!

Good luck with your house sale!

  • Love your catch-up list. Hell, I learned a few new things about you.

You crack me up about your mom!

  • Talk to me, Goose.
