Mike Sets an Example for Mankind

Wednesday, February 15th 2006

Sure, my husband loves me…

Before he left for warm California yesterday, he made sure these were delivered.

Okay- I actually had to pick them up because our driveway would have killed the local elderly flower delivery man. Nobody wants to die an icy death on Valentine’s Day, right? And nobody wants the lawsuit…

As I was driving to my daughter’s school party yesterday I saw what could only be described as the bomb (and I hate that phrase). Mike, show ‘em how it’s done.

Now I don’t know who this Mike is but I do know that he really loves his girl. I also know he that probably pissed off most of the men in our town who had to hear this story over dinner and dumb chocolates.

One dozen red roses $49.99
One Hallmark Card $3.49
One can of red spray paint in the snow - priceless.

Forget Hallmark - have you ever had a Mike moment?

If you really love me, feed me in your reader!

You love me. You really love me. Dontchya?

  • Now, THAT, my dear, takes the cake! WOW! I am VERY impressed!

  • I have missed an entire week of fun!!!! Darnitall!!

    My moment is up. :-)

  • I saw that and it made me smile!
    LadyBug

  • We certainly know who’s loved, don’t we?!?!?

  • Whoa. Now that is the ultimate. I’ve got to show this to my husband… :mischievous:

  • Love it!!

  • That is fantastic! I’m showing this to my Hubby too.

  • we honeymooned on the ocean and one morning my hubby got up early and wrote I love Mary in the sand below our hotel-room window.

What a sweet hubby you have!

    Mary

  • That is so very sweet! Mike definitely wins the AWWWW! award this year! I bet Miss Beth was just over the moon!

  • What a guy!

  • OMG - how freaking SWEET! :lovestruck:

  • That is so cool! I tried to pee my girlfriend’s name in the snow once but all I could get was her first initial.

  • BH sang for me in front of 500 people at country music show. Trace Atkins “For The Rest of Mine” Yeah, still prefer that to red snow.:sing:

BTW, I posted my flowers today too. Come see. :lovestruck:

  • So beautiful and romantic!

  • Ah Mike- I bet he had a nice nite-hehehe

  • How incredibly awesome!

I went to tuck myself into bed last night and felt something poke me in the knees. Much to my surprise, it was a box of Godiva and a lovely card. May have been there since morning. Who knows? Poor, thoughtful husband was asleep on the couch already and I haven’t properly thanked him yet for being the sweetheart that he is. But I will.

    :lovestruck:

  • Damn, He is good. Way to go Mike!!!Whoever you are.

  • you got yourself a good man there!!!

  • That is impressive!

  • Way to go Mike !
Beautiful flowers, my husband cooked a gourmet dinner for us all then fell asleep on the couch

  • Hallmark Moment??? Hmmm…Nothing comes to mind. I am sure I must have had at least ONE..right??? Anyway, I just noticed that in my sickness I missed roll call…darn it!!! Oh well….next time!!!

  • D

cute… but I would have preferred the flowers. what was my awwww moment? 10 yr anniversary, 5 dozen roses, separately arranged, delivered at my work, and a band with 10 diamonds set in…. yep, “awwww”!

  • That Mike is a keeper! Hubby surprised me once with an impromtu picnic on the anniversary of our first date, which had been a picnic. We were probably married about 20 years at the time.

  • your hubby did good! and that other mike too! good thing he used red paint, and not yellow or brown.

  • That’s pretty neat! And it’s not vandalism, really, like when people paint that on overpasses and you look at it for years before it gets painted over…

  • Sherry

My husband bought a STAR for me once and I thought he was/is the most romantic man on this earth. He has done a lot of other sweet things too.
I love the roses!!! Perfect for you….he’s a keeper too. What did your card say?
    Mike’s message was sweet too.

  • Did you know you can make a valentine for a lot less than $3.49? And you can rent a crop duster to put “Mike Loves Betty” in the sky for a lot more?

And I can put “Hoss Loves MommaK” right here for zero?

Best Buy has nothing on me.

  • That is so sweet. I would have been pissed if my husband did that here though. Wouldn’t have been the same spray painted on my grass!

  • I’m so glad the snow didn’t melt. Then Beth would have thought she was driving by the site of murder, with all that red in the snow.

Don’t mind me. I’m just procrastinating…and perhaps a little jealous.

    I got the roses.

  • I love it! it is priceless indeed! :lovestruck:

  • Chrissy

Funny. I hope Beth isn’t thinking, “I wish I got some red roses”. You know how us women are.

  • I would LMAO if my hubby ever spray painted that he loved me in the snow.

    Your roses are gorgeous!

  • Very funny! I would have been totally embarrassed if that was done for me though!

  • I just hope she ventured outside to see his handiwork before it melted.

  • Okay don’t get mad…
But when my husband and I were dating I once sprayed on gold paint I love Bill in the street.
    He has never forgotten that.

  • I think I love Mike

  • I can’t say that I have any Hallmark moments either but yours plus the ones in comments are just sweet.

  • Mike totally got lucky, I can promise you that.

I’ve never done anything as cool as that. Nor has anyone I’ve dated.

  • No moments like that for me - but it sure gives me an idea for the next time we have snow here!

  • :pleasantry: Mike ROCKS!

Nope, nothing like that ever happens to me!

  • Beautiful roses!

  • Speak Up. You Know You Wanna.
