My, my, my….this blog is one year old today.
Leanne decorated the place for me as a surprise last night. You like?
When I started Petroville, I had no idea where blogging would take me. Looking back I surely wouldn’t have guessed it would lead to making dozens of friends that I now hold dear, a year of entries that at times kept me sane or a curiosity that grew into an interest in pursuing web design. I was just thinking I’d post a few pictures of my dog or something. Heh.
I’m not going to go into why I started blogging. That I will save for a later post and hope you play along. Today I am writing a Year in Review of sorts - a Petroville highlight reel, if you will.
I do not expect that you would actually read all of these posts so don’t feel bad about that “Are you kidding me?” thought that just ran through your head. This is just for posterity folks - my virtual scrapbook.
Please note that the earlier posts have no comments. This is due to switching from blogger to wordpress and my own domain over the summer. Feel free to leave a word or two to fill the enormous void in my heart comment section.

February 2005
♥ How I met my husband was one of my first topics.
♥ That led to my screaming biological clock post.
♥ I posted my first Survivor recap and for my mother’s birthday, I started a blog for her as a surprise.
March 2005
♥ I began asking a lot - I mean a lot of questions.
♥ I posted about my 5 year old’s fashion choices and told you the history of my cousin & me.
April 2005
♥ We played Monty’s Image Game and Raehan had me pegged right away.
(We need to play this again- don’t you think?)
♥ I had a Melvin Moment and you were asked not to ask.
♥ My husband left me a love puzzle on the bathroom counter and you all tried to figure it out.
May 2005
♥ I chose 5 occupations - one of which would have rewritten the Thong Song.
♥ I wondered if I was a blog addict? I still don’t know…
♥ I was Michele’s Site of the Day and had a Meltdown.
June 2005
♥ I was Un-Willing and we all got crazy names.
♥ My husband guest posted for Father’s Day and we talked about our first time.
♥ Monty & I hosted a Blog Super Hero Weekend and I met some wonderful bloggers at the zoo.
July 2005
♥ I posted about the word “suck” and got my first troll.
♥ We played Roll Call for the first time and Misty won.
♥ I explained why you should never take someone’s spot in jazzercise.

August 2005
♥ I took a trip to CA and a break from blogging.
♥ Raehan played a game with you and fed the pigs while I was gone.
♥ Misty guest posted that week and had everyone bitching about their husbands.
♥ We discussed Bad habits and my comments resurfaced.
♥ I was Michele for a Day.
September 2005
♥ We discussed small town living and I got all mushy about my anniversary.
♥ I took a Hair *ahem* Style Survey and I did my very first Thursday 13.
♥ I was honored to be Michele’s Repeat Site of the Day. Still am.
October 2005
♥ You helped create My 100 Things.
♥ We had a Worst School Picture Contest.
♥ My husband returned to write another post about life in the Ding Dang Woods.
November 2005
♥ I got a new tattoo and threw my husband a kickass party.
♥ We talked about vanity plates, mommy blog haters and
obnoxious Christmas Letters.
♥ Leanne did me over good with my snowy new look.
December 2005
♥ You were MommaK for a day.
♥ I made a ton of cookies and got away on holiday.
January 2006
♥ I listed my New Year’s resolutions and thought a lot about pork.
♥ The gals & I threw a Blog Baby Shower for Angie who STILL has not had that baby!
♥ I lost my blojo long enough to have a Most Disgusting Foot Contest and said farewell to the 13.
Oh yeah, and ♥ I made you all sit through this long ass list of posts. I did that too…
Just so you know, I’m not getting all mushy today. I’m saving that for later.
I love you all and you damn well know it.

For me it was terrific way to catch up with a dear friend. With both of our lives being so hectic it was nice to get reintroduced to you and who you have become since high school. I have gotten to know MommaK as the wife and mother that you have become instead of the Boone’s Farm drinking out of a plastic bottle that I once knew and loved. Congrats on the one year anniversary.
