11 years ago today we eloped in Las Vegas. We bought our Marriage License with the last few dollars we had to our names.
8 years ago today Princess Diana died. She was married on my birthday (7/29) and died on my wedding anniversary. I have always felt a connection to her.
Today my heart can hardly smile.
I am so sad for all of these people.

Today is my brother’s wedding anniversary too, 14 years.

I too was very sadden with Diana’s death and often think about her childern when their faces are plastered everywhere!
It is extremely sad that something as incrediable as weather can do such horriable damage-we have a large group from SLO already in the area’s that need the most help-so I’m just staying abeast of that- when they start asking for clothes and things- I plan on donating-maybe that is what you can do too-I too sit and feel-”we need to do something!”

Happy Anniversary!!! Although we didn’t elope on our anniversary we also had very little money to our name. You two are very lucky to have each other.

I always had a connection with Di too..she was married on my bday too of course and we have the same name!! She was just so beautiful and charming…What a tragedy! Lookin at that last picture I am just dumbfounded…I couldnt imagine…I heard that people were still stranded on their roof tops waiting for some rescue teams…I dont understand those people who thought they would just wait it out…I mean the ones that were trapped and couldnt get out I understand but those who coul get out and decided to just wait it out…i dont get it! TTYL HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
I am pretty sure that Cat’s (A Mom in the Swamp) home was probably devastated, she lived in Slidell, outside of New Orleans. We may need to find some ways to help. I emailed her SIL Heather (sure you knew that) and asked her to please let me know what we can do, whether is is setting up somewhere for people to donate through paypal, or sending clothes, etc.
My stomach hurts and I cry every time I watch the news.

Celebrating the joy and love you have with your husband in your marriage is a good thing - and it’s a way to remind yourselves how lucky you are right now. My heart smiles for both of you. (And I’m wondering if he’ll spell your name out in some creative way… )

I’m so sad about the destruction. I grew up in Biloxi and still have friends there. I think my childhood house is gone now. It survived Camille. We stayed in our house during that hurricane. I just cry every time I see the news clips. I have found out that one friend, her husband and mother survived. We are trying to get them out to stay with us for a while during clean up. We can’t get through to them. It’s very frustrating and frightening.

Try to have a good anniversary! We just had ours and it really is something positive to focus on during these awful times…watched CNN all night last nite and my heart just goes out to the folks in the Southern US. Blessings to you.

Well Happy Anniversary regardless. TOmorrow is actually my 11 year anniversary of being with Danny…not wedding…but still. And I too have always loved Princess Diana, I have all the newspaper and magazine articles from her life and death.

I loved Princess Diana. What a breath of fresh air in that stodgy old family. At least she left two gorgeous sons for us to look at.
I’m sick about New Orleans and the poor people left there. It’s terrible that we can’t efficiently deal with a natural disaster in our own country.
