I have been a fan of yours since you were the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and you rocked my teenage world with such songs as “Summertime” and “Parents Just Don’t Understand”. You have always been clean, funny and a good hearted performer. I appreciate all of these things in you. Your CD “Big Willie Style” was full of favorites for me including “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” , “Miami” and “Men in Black”. That was a good CD. It was fun and fresh and not trying to be hard or gangsta. I could listen to it with my kids in the car and still get funky.
I was thrilled to see you cross over into movies and loved Men in Black, Bad Boys, Independence Day, Enemy of the State, and recently had a ball with the kids seeing Shark Tale. You are a great actor, especially when you are playing a smart ass cop.
I recently purchased your latest CD “Lost & Found”. I have to say that I did so due to the fact that I fell in love with the song “Switch”. I was so excited. I thought this CD would be just as great as the last one. And then I popped it in and it sounded like a you were an act about to get booed off of Showtime at the Apollo. Your raps were contrived, sticky and made no sense. It was seriously sad. Will, what were you thinking? Did you write this crap?
Then I caught you on Leno. Oh Lordy. Jay asked you about the title of the CD - “Lost and Found”. He asked if there was a story behind that. And you’re answer still makes me cringe. You said, “I feel like there was this rapper inside of me that got lost. And now I’ve found him.” (gag)
Please, Will, please lose him again. Whoever he is, he is going to do very bad things to your music career. I think you know this. Why else does “Switch”, the only good song, appear on the CD 3 different times? That’s crazy!
In closing Will, I would like to ask you for my $13.50 back. “Lost & Found” is not worth the plastic jewel case it came in. Please think long and hard before you cut another CD. I think you may just want to stick to the movies that have made your career so great. I am only saying this because I care.
Best Regards,
