As I’m getting my darling out of the tub, she lets out a string of pop-rockets and says to my raised eyebrows, “I’m in the bathroom, Mom. I’m allowed to do that in here.” To that wisdom I reply, “Yes, but it is still rude to do that right in front of a person. You need to say excuse me”.
She says, “I didn’t do it from the front, Mom.

And finally, as many of you know, we moved my mother into her quaint new condo yesterday. It was an exhausting process, as any move is, but a very rewarding one. We are all so proud of Mom.
On the drive home, my 5 year old asks, “Mom, will Unga be sad now that she is all by herself?”.
(she always asks the tough ones)
I reply, “Well, honey, sometimes people are happier when they live alone. I think Unga will be happier now that she lives closer to us”.
I’m not quite sure why that one made me cry.
